Penny's Dad's (Widmore's) Office

I do not have Seasons 1-3 of Lost with me at this moment because my parents finally decided to convert and are deep in the middle of Season 3 trying to catch up. I was writing to see if any of you who can pause and blow up photos of past episodes have ever gone back to look at Widmore's office when he and Desmond have their sit down meeting. I was wondering if there were any clues as far as things on his desk or on the wall or something that would link him to what is currently going on in Season 4. Any help or thoughts?

I havent had a close look myself but apparently the artwork is widmore's office is similar to tht in the hatch and jacob's cabin...

however just could be what the props guy could get his hands on

2nd pic looks to have a polar bear, and the word "namaste" backwards, like the dr in the hatch videoes.

3rd one seems to have the number 108, but cant see significance in some of the others.

I also see the number 42 in the 3rd one and what appears to be a sailboat on the right hand side.

Reminds me of the drawings on the chalk board behind Hurley in the Asylum...with the fish and the boat.

Ohhh wow!!! THANKS for posting that, that is soooo interesting...I didn't even realize Claire's boyfriend had an art studio, wow yet another strange connection. I love it! :D

Annd if you check out the painting with the polar bear on it, next to it there is an upside down statue which looks like it could be the statue with the 4 toes! You can't see below the waste of it but I def think it has something to do with the temple. Verrrry interesting. It also says "Namaste" backwards above it.

Yeah.. the same artwork is all over the place on this show.. I remember it was a big "thing" during S1 and S2. Similar art was in Claire's flashback to the apartment she shared with Aaron's biological father.. (for anyone that doesn't know, that third picture posted is from the hatch, not from Widmore's office).

So far it's been in Claire's apartment, the hatch, Widmore's office and the institution chalkboard. Anyone remember anyplace else?

I don't know about all the connections there.. but I do think the one in Widmore's office means he knows something about Dharma.

It's interesting that the hatch picture changes....in the beginning when we first see it, it says "am sick" and then when we see it again it says "am well"?? Did anyone catch that on the link XmasDVD posted?? Does Mr. Widmore have the same painting in his office too? It kinda confused me but I thought it was so weird how the mural changed.

It confused me too. It looked like Mr Widmore had the same painting as Claires boyfriend. It kinda looked like who ever posted the pics on that site wrote "am sick" and "am well". Maybe i'm missing something not sure.

I had to go back and look at it but I could make out the am well and am sick which is really interesting and Iowa wonder what that is about.

I'm sure some of this stuff ties together, but I also bet the prop department might just be a bit lazy... :)

The paints and lava lamps could just be reused props. Similarities in some of the paintings could just be that they use the same prop painter for all the props paintings.

But I definitely agree there are certain clues meant to tie a few things together, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Claire's boyfriend again in a flashback, flashforward, or even on the island.

That link just blew me away. I had forgotten all about Claire's boyfriend; I had not even given the items in Widmore's office a second thought. Damn!!!
