Caesar told Locke there was a loud noise and a bright light then Hurley disappeared. Why did he see the light and hear the noise? During the island flashes weren't the non-travelers oblivious to the light (i.e. Danielle when Jin flashed she had no idea). Why did he see it then?

Because that Light on the Plane wasn't Time Travel it was the Island bringing them where they needed to be.

If it wasn't time travel then how are they in the Dharma Days? Or maybe they're not...

Because once Locke turned the Wheel the time the Losties was in is the Time they have been in for the past 3 Years.

I think you misunderstood me, or maybe I'm misunderstanding you. I meant how did Jack, Kate, and Hugo end up in the past if they didn't time travel from the plane. They were on the plane in 2008 then flash and they were (presumably) in the dharma days. It looks to me like it was time travel.

Because the Island was moved by Locke into the past, so once they got onto the Island they are in the Dharma days

so do you think Locke and the rest of the 316 survivors are in the past too?

They can NOT be in the same time..because what has Just been siad.. He saw them Disappear... If he went with them(in time) he would "Disappear" also!!

I agree they are in the present and the other 3 are in the past. This is my point. The 3 time traveled to the past and Caesar saw the flash but people don't usually see the flash if they are not time travelling. I don't agree with the island travelling in time so that's how they got there without time traveling idea because the new people are on the island too.

Plus if Caesar did travel into the past, the Hydra station wouldn't be abandoned.

I agree with you, (but I think Sayid is in the past also), but yes 4 are in the past..Ben,Locke, flight 316 in present(saw Sun next to Ben in a preview of next show),....But How Casear saw the flash,I'm not sure, because it was time travel..good question

Ok then why is Sun,Ben,Sayid and Locke inside the Present Time then?

How can you say this? You state Sun ,Ben..etc are in the present and Jack, Kate etc are in the past...but they didnt travel in time. If someone goes from the present time to the 1970's..I call that time travel.
How Caesar saw the flash I dont know...but everyone(time travelers) disappears..widmore saw locke disappear

This is why Caesar saw the flash.

When Ben turned the wheel, EVERYONE saw the flash. The Others and Richard saw it, the flight 815 people saw it, and the O'6 on the helicopter saw it. They didn't all travel with the flashes, but everyone saw it. They all saw it because the flash happened in the present time - like witnessing an explosion.

Now, after time traveling and going through subsequent flashes, only those who are experiencing the flashes are able to see the flash. Which is why past Rousseau and past Others didn't see the flashes.

So Caesar was able to see the flash because he was in the present when it happened. But when he eventually chases Sawyer, Locke, Juliet and company in the canoe and they flash away, Caesar won't be able to see that flash.

Does that make sense?

I like this idea, i originally believed the light to be time travel but the fact that ceazer saw it makes me think different. Maybe the only ones that were flashed are the original survivors from 815 that would explain why frank, ben, and locke (becuase locke acted like a proxy it technically wasnt him, it was christian and christian wasnt a survivor) didnt go anywhere different. They stayed with the plane while the others (the original survivors) were taken to where the island needed them to be. I think that this may have something to do with the "war" that was discussed. I say this becuase maybe this is a little into the future for the island and maybe the DI has been started up again, and thats why we see Jin in the uniform. speculatin..... dont hate

I don't think the entire losties are in the 70's as you state they are.
I believe Sun is in the present time with ben and Locke(on the boat with Frank)..A preview of next week shows Sun standing next to Ben with his arm in a sling.

I do like the theory previous stated about seeing a explosion. The 06 saw the flash but wasnt a part of it...I think that happened again as the plane was in the island perimeter

No I'm saying the Island is in the 1970's.

If the island has the power to move people in time, maybe it can move buildings as well as objects. Maybe the island chose to move the deserted Hydra station to the 70's with the 316 people

Ort, you are my new Jacob. :)
I hadn't thought about how everyone saw the flash when Ben turned the wheel.

Desmond also saw the flash or at least heard the noise when he and Dan were talking outside the Swan.

Has anyone considered that perhaps Ceasar saw the flash because he is a time lord? You know, like Mrs. Hawking will turn out to be. Perhaps that is why Charles Widmore has him dogging the losties to get to the island....so he can bring the island to Widmore.

No I'm saying the Island is in the 1970's.

Nope..I bet they are not in the 70's...The Hydra station is abandoned, and the 815 camp DOES exist(mainland), (Proven to Exist).. it can NOT be the 70's if the 815 camp exists. Flight 316 is in the Present!

All correct. 316 is in the present while Jack, Kate, Hurley (and possibly someone else) traveled back to the Dharma era.
