Does anyone have any ideas about why the others wanted the children? Walt has apparently grown rapidly according to Locke.Does the island do something to immature organisms that juliette found out in her attempts to save the unborn babies? What's that all about?

Yah I'm still confused as to why women can't get pregnant on the island and now that it seems the island goes slower in time, maybe that has something to do with it? But I think maybe the Others wanted the children since they can't get children naturally....I assume they want to continue living on the island and raising kids to be like them so that the island can thrive so maybe thats why they want children? Who knows...

he may well believe he is saving them but i also think its partly as they cannot reproduce themselves.

also children are easy to conform/manipulate...the others got them on their side and could brainwash them.....remember cindy and the kids watching sawyer in the cage...wierd....not even like it was them anymore...like the bodysnatcher movie

I agree with your points. I think Ben is actually looking after the children. If he is going to increase his community they need more children, plus I think he really cares about their safety and doen't think they should be with the survivors, when he can offer them more. We may not like Ben at this point, But he truly believes what he is doing is right.

I agree, in some weird way I really feel like Ben has the best intentions in mind for his people and the children and anyone that comes in that could pose a threat to him he then acts the way he does.
