Did anyone catch the name of the man Sayid killed on the golf course?:confused:

I've listened a dozen times to the video and it sounds like

: "Mr. Avilene"

Like Abilene (TX), but with a "V" instead of a "B"

Reason I asked is if we know who golfcart man is, maybe we can deduce who else is on "the list.";)

Good point on trying to figure out who he is.

He also seemed to know that he was in danger when Sayid introduced himself. Doesn't seem like the reaction that most people are having to the Oceanic Six. Most treat them like celebrities.

To me this means one of two things:

1. He felt guilty, because he has something to do with the whole mess and felt uncomfortable talking to Sayid. Maybe he helped with a cover-up, getting them to the island, or just involved some how.

2. He knows Sayid is killing people, and figured he needed to get the hell out of there.

I would guess both might be true.

dont think it was by chance - same way that sayid never met elsa by chance.

I agree - Sayid was there to kill the guy. He knew he would be there.

There was also a comment made that I didn't catch entirely about it not being crowded or no one was around that day. Almost like Sayid had arranged for the place to empty so he could kill him.

Oh I DEFINITELY think Sayid arranged it, he knew the guy would be golfing there and that it would be empty.

Sayid's victim did react upon hearing about Sayid being part of the Oceanic 6, but he still was able keep his wits about him, hitting a great shot. He acted more surprised when Sayid actually pulled the gun out. I don't think he was expecting it, which says to me he did not realize Sayid was an assassin. But then again, he lacted really anxious and unnerved we he told Sayid not to worry about the 100 euros, so who knows.

definitely not by chance just like his meeting up with elsa....also the buy acted scared at first because he could then assume that maybe sayid was going to kill him....he was trying to play it cool in case it was coincidence

It was 100 euro, and the victim mentioned that they were in the Seychelles Islands. He asked Sayid if he was on vacation.
