View Full Version : Thing in the water

Okay, so I am trying to go back and watch from the beginning. I am only on the pilot but I noticed something kind of weird. When Kate and Charlie are walking through the jungle to find Jack after the pilot was killed, she sees the pilot's wings on the ground. When she picks them up the camera quickly shows something in the water...silver I think. At first I thought it was some kind of necklace but the camera fades out so fast. What's in the water? I also do think it's bizarre how Charlie goes into the bathroom where we find out in later episode that that's where he was doing drugs when the plane crashed. Why wasn't he up in the tree with those other people? I'm sure these have both been addressed before but I was just curious.

Also, the writers said Jacob was in the first episode and that he does not speak. Locke does not have a speaking part in episode 1 of the pilot.

Do you have a link to where they said that thing about Jacob? Also that Silver thing is one of the Pilot's Medals.
Stop asking for that damn link, we know it was said so just leave it, Are you going to stick your head up a bull's ass to find out what a t-bone is? Or are you just gonna take the butchers word for it?

I don't have a link..I actually can't find that the writers said that anywhere but according to this forum...everyone is under the consensus that Jacob is in the first episode and does not have a speaking part. It had been mentioned then that Vincent could be Jacob or some guy that was helping Jack with another survivor etc...but nobody mentions Locke. He doesn't speak either until episode 2. So, if the writers did actually say this then it is a great possibility that Locke is Jacob. Now back to the pilot's medals...how do you know this?

She picks up the pilots wings and then see's the reflection of the pilot (hanging in the tree above them) in the water.

nice analogy!
i was watching the pilot this morning too. i wondered the same thing about Charlie.
about the water, i only remember Kate seeing the pilot's body in the reflection and that's why she looked up. i didn't notice anything else but maybe i wasn't paying attention?
the dog Vincent does play a strange role in the pilot by the way. he is the first character to greet Jack when he wakes up and he mysteriously observes other people. i don't know what it means... maybe this whole thing is about a dog? anyway!
the other thing i remember about the pilot is the importance of Jack. we are mostly talking about Locke and his destiny and Linus and all that, but i think Jack must also play a huge role in all of this. maybe the Island needs him as much as he needs it?

Locke shouted to some guy to get away from the plane engine - and then that guy got sucked into it.

no you may not because Locke uttered some sound in the pilot and also, look at this: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Jacob. Jacob doesn't really look like Locke to me...
hmm... i just thought of something...

Maybe Aaron is Jacob...we didn't hear anything from him as well...with good reason of course.

Well, if he DOES turn out to be Jacob, I hope we get to see another point of view from the cabin scene in "The Man Behind the Curtain"... namely, John sitting in the chair, calling out to his younger self, "Help me!"

I would also like to see this. I've seen it referenced a lot of times and yet no one seems to know it's origin.
And Amp, don't give me any Tommy Boy retorts, I'm on to your game.

i am very sure this has been discussed to death by now but in the bible Aaron is the grandson of Jacob. In Lost Aaron is the grandson of Christian.
also you can never have too many Tommy Boy quotes in a given conversation. keep up the good work!

No Locke did speak in episode 1 of the pilot he did in fact which has been said |"no you get away from there, get away" and then the guy ends up blowing up the engine so locke is not jacob.
i just re-watched the episode the only main cast member that did not speak in the pilot episode 1 was sawyer and i very much doubt it is him, the writers said jacob was in that episode however they did not say what or who is could be it is interesting but i dont think its any of our losties, and if it is vincent i will not be a happy boy because i dont want to have watched 6 seasons to find out its all about a dog!!!

ok ok ok ok......lets say hypotheticlly...vincent does turn out to be jacob....its not like vincent has always been on the island and jacob has always beeen a dog...he has just taken over the body of walts dogs...which would explain with walt has special powers...because he has been so good to his dog...so jacob rewarded him...jacob wont BE the dog....but he will have taken over his body......we all love vincent yes? well maybe vincent died in the crash :( and jacobs had to go into his body to survive....im sorry....but all the evidence is stacking up that vincent is jacobs current form :P
- he can go away for days unhurt and just return
- did anyway see the way he was just staring at jack kate and charlie leaving?
- first person to see jack
- In the only picture we have on jacob....vincent looks more like him than anyone....i mean they clearly have the same hair colour....
- We never see him be fed, yet he clearly survives...
- He didnt have a speaking role in the first episode

There is something in the water. You do see the pilot's reflection but to the left of the reflection for a split second it does show something in the water. I'm sure it has no significance but I just thought it was weird. See, you're looking at the reflection but look a little to the left. It's clear but then it's not.

i dont think Jacob is Locke, Ben and Alpert have both seen Jacob so when Locke walked in to Alperts camp would he not have thought it was Jacob??
i think the guy who helps Locke and Jack pull an other passenger out from under a piece of the plane may be Jacob, watch this clip and compare it to the photo of Jacob, oh and the voice you can hear is Michael Emerson the guy that plays Ben. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffLFOrRjYKs

That's the prop guy they didn't know who was going to be jacob at the time and just threw him in there. I thought this was debunked already.
They said Jacob has taken the form of other people and animals. IE Christion, Vincent, Black Horse.
WTF do you think I'm stupid? I've heared of the rumor. And before you post it, yes I've heared of sarcasm too.

i wonder if Kate looking at noticing the wings has something to do with her remembering the toy plane? truthfully i never really related to Kate's story btw. i never really understood why she killed her father. but i digress...

It is there, even in that picture except that's when the camera faded it...I can see it...it is on the bottom left. It's not in the corner. Go about 1 inch from the bottom left corner and then up just a few cm. It almost looks like 2 small silver kind of spiked balls. I know that sounds crazy but watch again. It does show something clear and then fades to what we see in this picture.

Am i right in remembering an episode where we see Christian tell Vincent to wake Jack up in the Jungle right after the crash???
If so does this mean anything? has anyone got any thoughts on it?

Christian tells Vincent to wake up Jack in those Webisodes that were 2-3 minutes each, they released in between seasons 3 and 4 I believe. I always found that one the most interesting along with the one about Walt.
EDIT: They were called LOST:Missing Pieces.

Here you go this as all of them 12 I think. Some are more interesting than others but I just watched that one with Christian again...I sort of forgot about these, they are from the first three seasons, with no particular order, hence, missing pieces. I'm going to go through them again because with all of our knowledge now they might mean a heck of a lot more.
