The best season?

Although they have all been great,my personal favourite was Season 2,cos it was awesome from beginning to end.
A lot of surprises,new characters,some answers and many new questions.
The tailies,Desmond's story(including Penny and Widmore),Henry Gale(Ben),the others,Michael's betrayal and the revelation of Kate's crime really opened up the storyline.I loved the cosy hatch and really miss it.

It contained so many memorable moments including fuuny one's like;
Hurley beating up Sawyer,Sawyer asking Hurley about Libby,"whoa you got a little love connection brewing over there Jabba?"
Charlie saying to Hurley,"sorry I must have confused it with the 900 trillion I am worth myself".
Shocks like the death of Shannon,Ana Lucia and Libby,Michael's quest for his son and how he hands over Jack,Sawyer,Hurley and Kate to the others.

Next would be season's 3 and 5,which are almost as good as 2.

I agree for the most about about season 2, and I feel it's pretty underrated. I'm not sure what order I'd put the rest of them in, because there have been too many great to mediocre episodes to make a completely good or completely bad season.

Thanks for agreeing with me,I also feel most people underrate the 2nd season.
Honestly it was so much more interesting than the first,which was a lil boring in comparison.
My ranking so far,
1.SEASON 2,
2.Season 5,though not complete,has been incredibly amazing so far and may end up being better than 2!
3.Season 3,
4.Seasons 1 and 4,pretty much equal.

Hopefully Season 6 will be as good as 5 if not better.

Yeah. I have this funny feeling season 5 will mirror season 2 more than any other, in a way, what with Locke possibly losing his faith, the Swan being revisited, not being able to know what Ben's true intentions are, etc.

Okay,fair enough,I think many people would say it was the best.
But people have lost interest in the show,some in the first,others in the remaining seasons.
But overall ratings were the highest during the 1st season.

This show isn't for everyone. It's very complicated and a lot of people (me for one) tend shy away from shows that you have to watch faithfully every week. And a lot of people just want mindless drivel.

You are very right sir,I guess some people stop watching just as things seem to get better,but they might think things are getting worse.
Generally I think most people are not committed and are scared of complex plot twists.

Well, the people who lost interest are just shallow!

I begrudged intro of the tailies in S-2 but I still loved the show and each year just got better and better!

My favourite is season 3 - I think it's a female thing!

I loved Season 3 because Ben's character was opening out more and more and Sawyer was sexier than ever, and it holds my favourite episodes 'Flashes before your eyes' and 'Tricia Tanaka is dead' - so it's the winner for me!

The very close runner up would be season one!

You're right about the mediocre episodes do have a lot of hints for the following seasons. Everytime I watch previous episodes of the past seasons on Sci-Fi channel, I am surprised to see more information about the island and the characters.
