Wow, what an episode. First off, THE STATUE! God i wish we would have learned more about it! I dnt know how they are going to explain it later. Richards scene was interesting, I love how Saywer refered to him as "your friend with eye liner." Something was stange about him, how do he and the hostiles get through the electric fence?

Horce a leader? Why? and How?

Who was the baby? We know it was a boy but who? There is more but my mind is racing. Post other info. I feel im missing something else important

And why the hell do we have to wait 2 weeks?! I thought they said no reruns, new episodes straight through. Damn that pisses me off.

The statue is that of Bastet of Egyptian lore, being supported by two ankhs, the representatives of eternal life.

Paul's necklace is of an ankh. My guess is he probably found it in the jungle. Could be Richard's.

Horce a leader? Why? and How?
Wasn't he the leader when Ben and his father arrived on the island?

This is just crazy but what if the baby is Sawyer himself? I'm saying this cause when he first saw Amy, he looked as if he's seen her somewhere before.....like he's met her before. Could be his mother....

Meh, thats how I interpreted his facial expression....

Maybe Horace is the leader of that section. Like how they had to get 'LaFleur' because he was in charge of that section.

I too was thinking who the baby was, but if I recall, Sawyer mentioned his mother's name in the episode where he killed Locke's father . . . I dont remember the name but sum1 will prolly look it up, lol

this episode gave me so many "WTF" reactions, lol

Yes he was. Horace and his wife were the ones who stopped and helped Ben's parents when he was born

I think Sawyers mother's name was Mary

Yea, he did look at her like he recognized her. That would explain why Sawyer had the nose bleeds becuz he has been to the island before.

No... I like it. It wasn't as exciting as the last weeks but that is usually how Lost goes. Exciting then toned down.

the brig Sawyer threatens to shoot Locke through the door if he won't open it, but Locke tells him that if his gun had bullets he would have threatened him with it, and not a knife, in the jungle. Sawyer begins to lose patience with the prisoner. He removes the hood and is startled to see it is not Ben but Anthony Cooper. Both are equally confused, but Cooper explains that he was involved in a car collision and the last thing he remembers is being lifted into the ambulance as the paramedics placed an I.V. in him. He has concluded that they're in Hell. He explains that he is Locke's father, that he he conned Locke out of a kidney and pushed him out an eighth storey window because he was a 'nuisance'. Suspicious, Sawyer asks the prisoner for his name. Cooper tells him a con man has many names, and begins to list his, including Tom Sawyer. He admits to having been to Jasper, Alabama(apparently Sawyer's home town). Sawyer realizes Cooper is the "Sawyer" that he has been seeking all his life, the man responsible for his parents' deaths. He orders Cooper to read the letter he wrote as a young boy, but Cooper reads the beginning, then mocks him and tears the letter in two. Sawyer, enraged, chokes Cooper to death with his chains. Locke frees him. Sawyer vomits outside. Locke tells him that Juliet is a spy for the Others and gives him her tape recorder as proof to present to the other survivors. He tells Sawyer he is not returning with him, because he is on his own journey now.

I posted this elsewhere but I couldn't help but notice the similarities between Horace and Ben. Horace is obviously a manipulator. There is no way he doesn't know about the Black Rock on the island. And he made Amy think it was her choice to give up Paul's body when he knew damn well he would have taken Paul's body if she wanted to or not. Something tells me Amy knew this as well....but that is another story all in itself. I think that Ben will (or already has depending on how you look at it) learn a WHOLE lot from Horace. Maybe even be a mentor to him since Ben's dad is a gimp.

But it wasn't Amy then, was it? Isn't Ben supposed to be about 40? Then he would have been born in the '60s. Horace and Amy didn't get together until sometime between 1974 and 1977.

The baby is not Sawyer himself. We see Sawyer's mom when kate read his letter. She told Sawyer to get under the bed and stay there. Also if it was Sawyer then he would have had nose bleeds sooner, around the same time that Charolette had hers since that would have put them on the Island (as children) at the same time. As it appears that Miles and Charolette were raised on the Island (miles probably being Dr. Chang's baby that we saw earlier this season)

i'm not convinced Miles is Chang's baby. the baby was born in 92 which i think is too young for Miles. his hair is gray already.

the biggest thing i learned in this episode was that there was a tense "truce" between the Others and the DHARMA Initiative.

why were they always called "The Others" by the way? even The Others call themselves The Others. well at least Juliet seems to. anyway

well i think Chang's baby was born in 92. there was that Comic Con video of Chang making a last video before the purge which happened in 92 as far as i understand it. in that video he shouts to his wife or something to keep the baby quiet.

Well in episode 1 of this year showed chang with the baby and daniel in the tunnel by the wheel. so changs baby was born in the late 70s-early 80s, around where the 06 are now.

which leads me to this question.....

so, are the 06 really never going back to present time? then they would all be dead by now. I think daniel is either going to turn the wheel at the end of this season, or create an explosion in the well that will cause a time travel.

in any event, because daniels has said "everything that happened happened" the 06 had to have come back to this time because whatever they do has already happened. so that also explains the list of names ben gave michael, explains why they werent supposed to leave, and why they had to come back. so, while they were on the island, was lockes purpose to turn the wheel just to send them back? could that have been his whole destiny, or are there going to be 2 conflicts in 2 time periods?

With everyone talking about the statue and the baby this is the question being overlooked the most. Are they going to stay in the past and have the rest of the series take place in the past? Are they going to time travel to the future again? How will Locke and Ben get to the same time period as the others? Where the crap is Sun?

That is exactly what my boyfriend said!!! He assumed the baby would end up being Sawyer! So maybe ALL of them were born on the island in the past and that's why they are destined to go back, but Ben was NOT born on the island and that's why the island does its best to dispose of him?!?!?!?

This is just crazy but what if the baby is Sawyer himself? I'm saying this cause when he first saw Amy, he looked as if he's seen her somewhere before.....like he's met her before. Could be his mother....

I think the 815ers called them the others cuz they were other people on the island. Dharma referred to them as the Hostiles. Juliet just goes by the name the 815ers gave the group because that seems easier. IMO anyway.

Actually, I'm really hoping that they go further back in the past!

I wanna see some Black Rock action... and more of the statue! :)

My big fear is that Sun/Jin = Penny/Desmond... long drawn out reunion.

If Pen/Des reunion is the phone call "The Constant" episode.... I loved that one but if just the thing on the boat then that seems okay. I don't think the Jin/Sun reunion will be like Penny/Des tho. Sun will be happy and shocked at how well Jin's english is in 77 but I think to much will be goin on for it tobe long and drawn out.

Richard can get through the fence because he's died and has been resurrected. This also explains why he doesn't age. Wanna bet that Christian Shepard and John Locke can get through the fence too?
