I believe that a lot of the answers people are wondering about are gonna come from him. So therefore i just have to say that by solving that mystery many more will be solved in the process.

He is the key to all of the island's mysteries.

most of this information was revealed as part of the Lost Experience alternate reality game. i was listening to some podcast and it doesn't sound like TPTB are too interested in revealing this mystery on the show so this might be the most we learn about it.

I'm betting they will cover the numbers....at least how Leonard from Hurley's institution and the Australian guy who killed himself got to the island and became obsessed with them. If you saw next episode's preview you might breathe a sigh of relief! :)
