Could it be possible that Jacob is Amy & Horace's baby?? If i remember right Locke ran into Horace in his dream in a past episode, (Horace's Nose was bleeding) in the Jungle and he was building a Cabin for Him and the Missus - Like the one Jacob lives in? Thoughts Please!!

If it turns out Jacob is a completely new character and no one we already know...would you be disappointed or relieved?

I don't mind reall aslong as he is explained in detail. altho it would be a pretty good twist if it turned out to be someone who is a main character in the show now

Maybe Sawyer is Jacob?? That would be something and Kate and Sawyer lived happily ever after with lots and lots of children LOL...I still think Sawyer is Amy's child...we will find out I am sure eventually. :)

I dont think Jacob is the baby. Jacob was known in the 50s when the losties went back in time and Locke brought up Jacob to Richard. So i dont think the baby is jacob

Jacob isn't the baby. The baby is going to turn out to be Ethan. Book it.

I know that's the generally accepted rumor, but I think it's crap. Just like some of the other bunk rumors that everyone just accepted as true.. Hello Michael in the coffin!

Ethan being born in 1977 would make him only about 27 in 2004 when we first meet him. Yeah, right! As I pointed out in another thread, the actor is 40 and although he's in good shape, there is no way he can pass for 27. Why would the show do something so silly, when they usually pay such close attention to detail and know we all do too??

The cabin Horace builds ends up being Jacob's cabin. However, it is extremely doubtful their baby is Jacob. What about Goodwin, Juliette's future lover? Creepy, eh. Suffice it to say that there is some relevance to the child and it will grow up to be some character that we have crosed paths with. But it could be many, many options. Des or Faraday? How about Charlie? Boone? The possibilities are endless.

I think Horace could have built that cabin at any point in time, and it doesn't mean that it was actually him that built it in the first place. He could have just been a spiritual representation of something. What did he say to John in that scene? I can't remember.

Also, this could be a stretch, but I just thought of this.. his nose was bleeding.. maybe it was because he was travelling through time? Yeah, he's dead, but it could have been a way for them to show us that he was in any time.

Anyway, I'm 100% convinced that Jacob is not the baby, and is not anyone we know.

I think we can rule out Charlie and Boone. We have seen Boone's actual mother, and we know Charlie was not the first borne. You really think they'd name their baby Goodwin Goodspeed???????

I say (and stand by it) that it is Daniel Faraday and he was kidnapped by Eloise.

What about Walt... he's like 40 as well. :D

Edit:
And while we're on the discussion of accuracy of age... Richard, anyone?!?

"At some point during his time with DHARMA, Horace designed and built the cabin that is now inhabited by Jacob". And it was a getaway for he and his wife, See: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Horace_Goodspeed

i totally agree with this theory
because it only makes sense that this is the first child to be conceived and born on the island, without the mother dying in the process

He wasn't the first child to be conceived and born on the island.

Remember the doctor and Juliet talking? He says something like "our babies are usually born on the mainland". Babies.. not only plural, but if there was an issue with pregnant women at that point, don't you think more people would be freaking out? They were only freaking out because the baby was breech, not because she was having a baby.

I sure hope it is not Ethan...Maybe the statue is the face of the dog...hey stranger things have happened on the island...

What would be the reason it would be Ethan...where would Ethan come into play in the show...it just doesn't make sense if it is Ethan..if it is...all this was a waste of time to me...LOL...

I doubt that it is Jacob, I just always kind of imagined that Jacob has always been there, he's almost like God. I don't know who the baby is, but I'd like to think it was someone important. Horace chopping down the tree and talking to Locke was something I forgot about too. Hmmm. I was so happy for Juliet when the baby turned out ok!

Turnup Queen, I was disappointed it wasn't jacob..but I think you are right..Jacob is a God of the Island and I don't think we will see him..but I still think Jacob is Locke...only Locke doesn't know it yet...or he also could be Jacobs Son..JC...he sacraficed his life for the world only it is the Island....
