How did sawyer know

I dont remember anyone telling sawyer about the ship and all he knew about the black rock. I remember whitmore buying that painting.. but when and who told sawyer all that info????

Locke imprisoned his father in the Black Rock and brought Sawyer there to help kill him.

Locke took him to the Black Rock in Season 3 to kill his father and told him some stuff about it.

I thought it was interesting when Sawyer said "blablah Black Rock, ever heard of it?" Horace responds, "CANT SAY THAT I HAVE" imo, he knows but can't say anything, due to protocol or whatever.

He said it was heading out from Portsmouth England.
I think that was only mentioned by the auctioneer selling the journal.

I may be wrong, but I think there's more than meets the eye here.

The black rock,has it's name and Portsmouth written on it,Sawyer must have seen that when he went there with Locke.

I think Sawyer is just a very good conman with an excellent memory. I remembered it came from Portsmouth too... but that's only because my Mum was born there!
