Lets think of time as a thing we can touch.Like a bullet being shot out of a gun.Do you really see the bullet when your standing still? no. Lets pretend the bullet is traveling at the speed of time which equals the speed of light(186,400 mi per sec). so lets pretend that we start running to half that speed. do we cut time in half? Speed up more to equal that bullet . Do we catch up to it? Run faster than that bullet . Do we go forward in time? I really belive we can go that fast but not on earth. Friction would kill it. Also when were going that fast what happens to everything around us ? Everything disappears. Boy this hurts my swollen head. Think about it and please share your veiws about it. I need more input.

I don't think time travel going the speed route is very feasible due to all the factors like friction. Maybe you can send objects going that route, but not living things.
The use of worm holes and warping space seems like the only way time travel would ever be feasible for living things. I would guess that Lost would go this route assuming that's what is going on.
It's much easier from a TV perspective. Using speed requires they blast someone off in a tin can. Using a worm hole they can do whatever they like, and open up door ways to different times and places.
Although I thought I had heard at one time that the creators said that everything can be explained using science. I'm not so sure that Time Travel is considered a proven science.

Don't forget Einstein's e=mc2
He's proven it's possible - maybe not probable but possible.
I also believe the creators that everything is in real time and there is no time travel, aliens, purgatory, etc. The way I think most of the mysteries will be explained is by giving us more details on them in the next 2 seasons.
The thing is, we've seen Locke in a wheelchair, we know the reason (falling from the building), but we don't know a lot about his exact medical condition. So we have assumed he was paralyzed forever, but it could be not so. For example, he might have been just temporarily paralyzed, or knowing his weird moods from time to time - it could have just been that he was so bummed from his father trying to kill him that he did not WANT to walk and once on the island he found a new motivation to live again.
Rose's cancer - could have been bad diagnosis or just paused development because of electromagnetic activity - after all electromagnetic is used to cure cancer in the real world.
I can keep going, but I think you get my idea. In short, I think that once the O6 are off the island we'll start getting flashbacks again - but this time about events that we have already seen (the 100 days on the island) , shedding more light on what has actually happened
