After seeing the oreantation for the Orchid I came with some proof for the theory that when something gets to where the island should be they don't see anything until suddenly they're on an island. However there is a period of time it takes to travel from the real world to the island world. When it travels from the real world to the island world it doesn't leave the real world. Instead it becomes duplicated.

Basically, in the Orchid video a rabbit gets duplicated (And a few extra hints).
Last episode Daniel ordered someone on the ship to send some rocket thing to him. It showed up ten minutes late and the person on the boat says it reached its destination a while ago. Also Desmond's ship gets wrecked. But in season 2 it shows up in one piece again. In the real world they say the found oceanic 815 and all the passengers were found dead. Also Richard does not age on the island thus time on the island must move much slower than in the real world.

There are many more supporting facts that I can't recall at this moment. So I'll edit this post later.

yes you are right the beacon is late - 31 minutes late at least (2.45 on one clock 3.16 on the other).

desmonds boat does get wrecked but kelvin is secretly fixing it up i think so he can get off the island.

richard doest seem to age normally which would indicate that time moves slower but ben, rosseau and alex have all aged as you would expect them to. so not sure why this only affects some and not others.

like the idea that there is some in between where you are not in either reality though although i am not sure about the duplication bit.

I think we are on the right track. The ones who have aged are all people who are not native to the island. Richard on the other hand we know almost nothing about. We know he was there when Ben was a child and helped orchestrate the "Purge". He hasn't aged at all.I think humans are aging slower on the island and who or what ever Richard is isn't aging at all.

Trevor, and all, if you haven't seen this website then take a peek: Mirrormattermoon.blogspot,com. It was on one of the threads and has something to say about most of the anomalies on the island.Might be worth your time.

how about two versions of everything? the rabbit duplicates, why not a Ben on the island and a Ben back in "the real world"? and why in the training film does the scientist insist that teh two rabbits not come in contact with one another?

Is Richard one of the four toed beings referenced in the statue on the island?

ohhhh, i like this like a
doppleganger'. which is a double or an identical replica of a person. The idea behind this is that everyone has a Doppleganger, an identical copy of themselves somewhere in the world. If the person is good, then the Doppleganger will be evil and vice versa. It is even said that if the two should meet, then they will both perish.

hmm

Others have mentioned this before, and it could tie into "The Bad Twin" a book Hurley was reading. I hear it is an actual book with relavence to the show, I wonder if anyone has read it or also heard of it.?

Yah I've heard of it and have even said before I thought it was interesting (even with all the biblical themes out there) that in the bible Jacob had a twin brother named Esau.....Jacob was seen as the good twin where Esau was viewed as the "bad twin"......also Jacob was loved by God the most (God loves you as he loved Jacob sound familiar??)

Anyway thats my 2 cents on that :)

I think mentione before, but the Bad Twin is a real book by Laurence Shames, but credited to Gary Troup (an anagram for purgatory) who was listed as apassenger on 815. The book is part of the Lost experience game that is trying to reveal the secret of the Hanso group.

Totally agree with what you all said, but let me throw this into the mix...

When the lady on the boat is calling off how far away the payload is, the says something like 30 km, 25 km, 20 km... all the way down to 5 km, 2 km and then zero, but then she calls out 2 km - just as if the payload flew right by the beacon. However, after that they just talk about how it's not there-bla bla bla
Could this be that the boat tracked the payload for 2 km after it hit said wormhole or something, but after 2 km it lost it for 31 minutes?
