What about the Children?

So there has been much discussion of who the "others" are and we've seen many of the Dharma sites on the island occupied by them. My question is...what happened to the children on the island? We know that they are still there because the stewardess (Cindy) and them visited Jack last season. I think it odd that with the prospect of "rescue" Jack never makes mention or seems to give thought to the fact that these kids are still there!:eek:

Yah it surprises me that Jack's never tried to "rescue" the kids that use to be on the plane although do we KNOW that Jack knew about the kids? I know Ana Lucia really cared about them because they were all from the tail section but did she ever tell Jack about them? I feel like she would have but I can't remember...but if she didn't, I don't think Jack would really know about them. I know he knows the flight attendant because he spoke to her before the plane crashed and that surprises me also that he hasn't tried to help her....maybe Jack just has his hands full haha.

But I do know the children have been kept safe and are all headed to the temple. I honestly think that Ben and the Others have the best of intentions for the kids seeing as how they can't bear children on the island so I doubt they'd harm the only ones they have.

to the temple where all of the others were heading when we last saw them leaving their camp....i think they did a little brainwashing to cindy and the kids though cuz like i said before ...they seemed very different when they were watching sawyer in the cage....like he was an animal or something...maybe they did it like they were trying to do to walt ..and carl....i find those clips on the projector interesting...there were pix of how we are polluting our world and wars....things that humans are doing to destroy the earth...also it had that same clip "god loves you as he loves jacob"......after that finale...i started thinking that Ben had seen the future and was trying to prevent us from global ruin.....saving the earth in some way....saving humanity really

My take is that Jack realized they may have been brainwashed or whatever, but if I were Jack I would realize that the children and hot Cindy (yeah, I think she's a little tamale)were safe and prob better off than wondering around the island with me and If we were ever rescued I would make sure they also tried to rescue the children.

If Walt can make birds crash into a window, then he can probably control the children himself.He can make himself appear and disappear by some method.We will find out at some point , but I wonder like you do.

Yah they're living a "normal" life with the Others and are all headed to the temple...thats pretty all we know so far.

Did we ever see them with the rest of the group when they split from Ben and headed for the temple? Was Cindy brainwashed or was she a spy on 815 like Ben's spy on the freighter? sorry, I just keep coming up with more questions the more I think about this!:D

def could be a spy....good point....i cannot rule that one out....she did seem different from now though when she was with anna lucia and them (the little that they showed of her)....remember...she was on the list as well as the kids....

Good question. I never thought Cindy may have been with the others, but why not. She just sort just disappeared from the tail section gang.

No, when Cindy said "we came to watch".. Jack was in one of the cages.. Kate and Sawyer were off working.

I don't think Cindy was a spy..

Desmond caused the plane to crash, not Ben, and remember Ben's reaction? He sent Goodwin and Ethan to check it out.. if he had known (which, again, he couldn't because it wasn't him who caused the crash) then I think he would have had more of a plan.

two things:
1. I think that Cindy could have very well been a spy. I am trying to replay how she was acting etc. during the plane ride over in my mind. She served Jack drinks, was watching Charlie as he went to the WC to do drugs, what else, anything suspicious??

2. Desmond may have caused the plane to crash BUT I think Ben knew it was going to happen. He knew there was going to be 'visitors' remember. And, if Island time is slower than Outside the island (and I think it's more than 31 mins.) then the crash could have already happened outside the island and Ben could've sent in a spy (CIndy).
I know this is still leaves the question of why then he quickly sent Ethan and the other to the wreck if he knew but maybe that was his plan all along.

just my thoughts but really, who knows :)

that was when Julliet was on trial for killing Danny and she was to be exacuted and then Jack saved her through Ben so she was only marked,or should I say branded.

i dont know if they were brainwashed or if whatever ben has told them is genuinley and they are going to be happier and better off.

i think jack doesnt try and rescue them because after that he sees its probably a lost cause.

Haha well I def think they're better off than going with crazy Locke and Jack!! Jk but seriously, its prob more dangerous for them to hang out with the Losties at this point right now...I wonder if they'll be brought up again though....you'd think if rescue was here jack and the rest of the crew would want to get those kids off the island and back home!

I don't think anything was done to the children. I truly think they were taken as to be protected and do not think they were brainwashed ala Claire or Karl. I think Ben sees them as completely innocent and would absolutely never harm them. Just look at how he traets Alex. She is like daddy's little girl so to speak.

I wonder why Cindy doesn't want to leave. She was looked and acted totally normal when she saw Jack in the cage. Maybe Ben told her and the kids good things. But they don't know what he's done and what's going on with the Losties. But I def. think they'll all be shown again.

1. she was always an other, like Ethan and just played it real cool.
2. brainwashed like Claire and how they tried to with Carl.

Of course Ben's "truth" can mean anything unfortuanetly. I guarantee there's so much he hasn't told Locke or anyone else. Like maybe he knows what the black smoke is.

Cindy is also a character in the Bad Twin and her last name is Chandler. That's all I could find. So if she is in the Bad Twin, then she may be apart of team Ben

I beleive all Dharmites (and kids) were killed in the purge, except for those in hatches around the island. Alex was taken from Rousseau, kids were taken from the tailies. But what about Carl? Did he come tot he island post-purge or did he survive the purge.
