I'm beginning to believe that Locke is the one working for Ben. He wasn't always doing it, but lately he is. I think Ben shot him in the left kidney to throw us off .I just don't see that as an accident anymore. Locke is as good as his name. He's "locked" on sticking with those who have cheated or tricked him. Don't you think Ben is with Locke for a good reason?

I don't agree that Locke is working for Ben (at least not yet), but I could see that shot as not being an accident.. maybe it's part of Ben's whole manipulation thing.. but I don't know why, so I'm not totally convinced.

i actually do not agree...i think that it was destined that locke loose that kidney so that his life would be saved on the island when Ben shot him there...also....charlotte had on that bullet proof vest and that saved her from dying when Ben shot her....maybe they can tell whats going to happen because they can catch a glimpse into the future or like a dejavu thingie where they have done this before or something.....I think that Ben wanted to kill Locke because he heard Jacob and that was a threat to Ben and he knew that the others might want him to be in power instead...as richard said to locke before....we are tired of things are being handled (by Ben)...

Ben definitely intended to shoot Locke. What he did not intend was Walt giving Locke a pep talk...or did he?

Time and time again, Locke has proved to be a sucker. His dad even conned him after he stole his kidney! Ben finds him easy to manipulate. He does not think he works for Ben, but he does.

Ben absolutely meant to shoot Locke. He heard Jacob, and we have seen time and time again that when Ben's power is threatened, that is when he takes the most actions. I think that it's part of this "bigger plan". Locke, however, is definately starting to get on my nerves. Just because now he feels like he has "power" (like he didn't have previously in his "real life"), doesn't mean he need to boss everyone around, and keep everyone else on the island. He likes it there, and it's "fate" for him, but he's getting demanding, and whiny.

nah i don't agree with that. ben totally left locke to die after he shot him.

i think it is interesting to note that if you go back to the season two finale when locke is in the hatch with desmond and determined not to press the button, desmond realizes it is real and locke still doesn't believe it and eventually eko basically has to rescue him and locke says "i was wrong"....from that point onward, locke's life on the island has been somewhat of a downward spiral, whereas before he was leading and believed in his destiny...he then lost faith when his faith had been a defining part of his character... it then turns out that he was right in the first place but because he lost his faith he can never really go back to the way things were before.... he tries to lead now, but it seems a bit phony and he is so aimless and no longer has any real confidence but rather is following what Walt told him to do and when he couldnt find the cabin again he seemed distraught and ben's line that "he's looking for someone to tell him what to do" is a very telling one for locke's character arc in my opinion... everything he has done since the hatch imploded has been a facade (having sawyer kill his father, possibly not blowing up the sub but making it appear that he did, and acting like he knew what he was doing when really he was following orders)

i think ben saw him as a threat before, but now seems more focused on the fact that the island called on hurley and also how he can manipulate the situation that he is in....i doubt he would employ locke as locke thinks he is on ben's level which he clearly is not and this annoys ben, plus locke has gotten so desperate and just seems to be a complete loser at this point

i think john just used the kidney story to explain why he was up and walking around njo problem after being shot. i am no doctor but surely he would be in some pain and need to be seen to to stop infection etc...i mean sawyer had a shot to the shoulder and he was down for days!!!!

well when sawyer got shot in the shoulder the bullet went through bone and i thought the bullet stayed in his body but i'm not sure.... in john's case the bullet basically went through a skin, then almost an empty pocket where the kidney should have been and then out through his skin again....so i can definitely see good reason for each to have come away from the wounds the way they did

I agree that Locke seems to be on the losing end and is spiraling down. I"m sorry to see his character taking a nose dive. He's done some crazy things and isn't one of my favorites anymore, unless he gets his act together. If I were on the island and all boundaries were blurred (lord of the flies) who knows what the craziness would push you to do. One mistake and you're history.

yeah, i think the only card he holds right now is having not destroyed the sub as i am now in the camp that believes he faked the destruction of the sub
