Ben's cunning plans.

Ben told Locke that he always has a plan.
He always manages to end up where he wants to be.
He himself wanted to get off the island that is why he didn't let John turn the wheel,he probably knew that John was supposed to turn it and not him.
This is clear cos when Keamy was about to die he told Ben that Widmore will always find him.Ben replied,"not if I find him first".

Ben wanted to get off the island in order to find Widmore and tell him that he is going to kill his daughter.
We saw that when Ben appeared in Widmore's bedroom late at night and told him he will kill his daughter.

I think Ben was bloodied before the flight cos he either killed Penny or tried and failed.

Oh Ben o Ben.. yes, I have to admit that he is a master manipulator. He is one of the most interesting characters on tv.. maybe in a long time. Maybe I'm biased cuz I love Lost.. who knows... :) I just almost never know whether to believe him or think he is lying. Sometimes he tells the truth but only half but it answers you question. Like when Jack asks about him seeing Locke or whateva.

Anywho...

So are you saying or asking that if whether John had not told Ben the island needed to be moved that Ben still would have moved the island or left because he wanted or needed to be off island?

Couldn't he just leave like the rest of the 'other' people seem to? To me he seemed really bumed that he had to leave. Like when he says I hope you're happy now Jacob (or something like that).. IDK like dammit he got me off this island anyway.

IDK I guess being off the island is like a bonus to be able to kill Penny himself instead of having one of his minions do it. He was able to find out about all these people off island and he seems to have all the people and resources available that by saying to Keamy if he finds Widmore first could of been anyone finding Widmore for him or something, I guess.

Yes I am saying that Ben would have still left the island to kill Penny,but he didn't want to leave that way.

By the time he finds out from Keamy that Widmore told him to kill Alex,he already knew the island needed to be moved.

He probably said,"I hope you're happy now Jacob" cos maybe he didn't know Locke was supposed to turn it and believed he had to do it and that he could never return(bummer).
Otherwise he could have left on Desmond's boat (he told Sayyid that is how he left).
