Desmond, Penny, and Penny's dad

I apologize if that has been discussed but I couldn't find it anywhere. So I was thinking about why Naomi had Desmond's picture and came up with a little theory. Let me know if it makes sense. Well, Desmond went around the world to prove to Penny's dad that he is worthy to marry Penny because Penny's dad thought Desmond was pathetic. My thoughts are that the new people to the island work for the dad and were going to grab Desmond and Ben while gassing everyone else. After everything that Desmond has gone through he has proved himself to Penny's dad where he now got to fetch him as some sort of a gift for his daughter.

This is just a random side note, well question really...I just rewatched 'Flashes Before Your Eyes' where Desmond somehow goes back in time and is with Penny again but however remembers everything from the island.......in this time he takes the picture that he had already remembered taking and I believe he leaves the picture there rather than taking it with him....would it be at all possible that whoever is tracking Desmond got ahold of this picture since he didn't take it with him this time around? (does that make sense at all...it was literally just an idea that came to me)

I don't think Mr. Widmore will get Des back. If you remember when Des did his travel back after turning the key in the hatch, he met the white haired woman[who's picture was on the desk at the monistary] at the jewlry store to buy Penny's ring. She told him he could not marry Penny that he had to go back and push that button because it was the only great and noble thing he would ever do.

No I THINK its the same picture, but its almost like he changed the course it was on I guess? I dunno, just seems interesting he RETOOK the same picture again yet this time did something different? I dunno, it probably doesn't mean anything lol.

after he tells Penny he can't marry her he goes to the pub and realizes this has happened before. The song on the juke box, the soccer game on tv, and the guy comes through the door to club the bartender but hits Dez and that's when he wakes up in the jungle, naked, can't get that vision out of my memory bank, and he finds the picture he had in the hatch before it blew. He had that pic when he was sailing.

im going out on a very long string. So desmond wakes up back in the real world. He thinks that the whole hatch thing was a dream. Heres where the Parrelel universe part comes in. Desmond is on the Island. And at home in real life. Now he could either be= Spy on boat or the person who maybe hires boat people or... not.

also I don't think Des is too sure of the "people on the boat" because of Charlie's last message. Not Penny's Boat.

I beg to differ. Des did not get on the chopper. He was standing there with Julliet when it took off.

At the end of the episode, it shows the helicopter taking off and flying over the ocean with Des in teh passanger seat and Siede in the back seat with the body and obviously the pilot.

He was just coming in from the under water hatch. For the life of me I can't remember the name of that hatch.

he was at the beach because that's where all the people that sided with jack went to wait for the freighter people to rescue them... that is why jack asks juliet how long it will take her to go get desmond at the beach....it had already been more than a day or two since he came back from the looking glass

no one came to get him at that point...right after he got back from the looking glass, hurley threw the walkie in the water so then they started walking to meet up with everyone...then everyone met up near part of the fuselage of the front of the plane in the jungle, then everyone chose sides and jack's group started off to the beach and locke's group started off to the barracks... jack and kate then sent the group onward while they went to check out the people parachuting in

As much as it was probably a turn in events, I laughed so hard the first time I saw Hurley chuck that walkie-talkie in the ocean. Just awesome if nothing else!
