There have also been a lot of Stephen King references and wasn't it interesting there was a strange commercial during the first episode of Lost this season that was promoting a Stephen King book about an island? Anyway I'm not sure if it was a real commercial or not but it was weird.

jacknurse, What was the title of the book they gave Ben to read when they had him in the hatch? Also, Sawyer was a big reader. I remember him actually reading a book written for young girls, that I remember my sister reading. He even reads a part of it out loud when he was trying out his new glasses. HMMMMM.

Yah it sounds like all the books have the "missing daddy" or "evil children" theme....hmm? Anyone else read what I posted about the Hanso Adoption Agency?? Who else on the show was adopted other than Locke?? Could be important...
The last book they just showed was Stephen King's The Drawing of the Three. The book is from the gunslinger series and the book she held was the original printing, (they changed the artwork on each cover when ever they reprinted) and the book has almost everything to do with the island.
From Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/Drawing-Three-Dark-Tower-Book/dp/0451210859/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203346156&sr=1-1)

Read that one too. ;) 3 people from different times are pulled into a parallel (sp) world to help the gunslinger (roland) with his task of defeating the crimson king and setting the world right. There is quite a bit about parallel worlds/ times all connected to one world like the spokes on a bike are connected together where they hook up with the bike. excuse my lack of technical terms. But anyway, to make a long story( 7 novels I believe) short If that central world is taken out all of the parallel worlds will be affected. Pretty good series. I'd reccomend to anyone who reads. ;)

Aldo (the other guarding where karl was being held) is reading A Brief History of Time which is a book about how the universe began. It talks about black holes, gravity, and i believe magnetic forces.

Sawyer reads a ton of books that deal with the plot (even if its minor stuff) he reads one called The Fountainhead. The plot is: Peter Keating, a main character in the book, is in love with Catherine Toohey, who he calls "Katie." Keating is something of a con-man, manipulating, using and backstabbing his way to prominence in his architectural firm. Katie knows this, and even Keatings potential to use her, but says she loves him anyway.
When Sawyer is apporached by Nikki (i think for a gun) he is readnig Evil Under the Sun which the novel's key plot elements include a living body posing as a murder victim. Kinda like those spiders that bit her a paulo and paralyzed them.
go here: http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Literary_works#Sawyer_reads
its lists a ton of the literary references.
