So, I decided to rewatch Lost from the beginning to refresh myself and possibly pick up a few things that I may have missed, or rather didn't mean anything to me then :)
The first is in season 1 when Locke goes off aloneto kill the bore, Kate and michael are sure they see the 'monster' head in his direction. We Only see a POV shot of Locke, fromthe point of view of either a bore or the 'monster', we never find out. Later after Locke returns with the dead bore, someone asks him if he saw the monster....he seems to be lying when he replies "no". Now, later that same episode Jack and Locke are discussing the island and magic etc...Locke says to Jack "I've looked I to the eye of this island and it is beautiful". Did Locke have a face to face elightened expierence with the island, was the smoke the window for this? I know it seems as if the smoke has killed other people, but are those just assumptions we made? Maybe the smoke only takes out the bad guys?
The other comment that struck me was when Jack was arguing about burning the fusal lodge and saying that they didn't have time...Charlie says something to the effect of.."really? Seems that we are made of time". I though this was cute, and so early on in the show we had no idea about the time travel.
The other thing I was wondering about was a comment Kate made. When Sayid,Kate, Sawyer, Boone and Shannon were hiking for higher groin to try and get a signal for the transponder, Sawyer was being a jerk and didn't want to set up camp. Sawyer wanted to head back to the beach in the dark alone and Kate tells him "if you keep walking that way, you won't make it to the beach" Sawyer replies "how so" and Kate just says "trust me". I guess this could be because of her expeirence in jungle this far and seeing the monster, but there was somethng odd about her responce, almost as if she already knows more about the island.
