I am thinking that this is too obvious an answer. I think that Sayid is there to do something that will take us off guard completly! Maybe when he was working for Ben he gained some knowledge that didn't make sense until now and surprisingly he will may follow through on something that seemed horrible to us before. Only a couple days until we find out!!

Maybe Sayid see someone from his own past and wants to kill them.

I think Sayid IS destined to kill Ben. Did you see the look on his face last week, when the boy told him his name?

It just seems to be that there is information that the Sawyer and co. Have that we have yet to become privy to. Why hasn't Sawyer killed ben yet? I don't know, but I think even after all the crap Ben has put everyone through, there is a piece of his puzzle that is missing....I hate to say it but maybe there is at least one redeeming quality about Ben.

What if it turns out Ben was actually responsible for Nadia's death, and Sayid found out? Nawwww......

Maybe the whole reason the O6 have to go back in time to the island is to kill Ben so that he doesn't start the "purge" later on in time.

In all honesty we all know the season six finale is going to be intense, and the chain of events that are leading down, as in the path Ben is taking is going to lead to an ultimate juicy season finale, I don't know if that intense finale is this season, or the next.

there is no way sayid will kill young Ben. IF what Faraday says is true, it cant happen. And if it did what would happen to the Ben back the the others in 2007? would he just disappear? I dnt think they will do that

Agreed! However, IF the record theory holds up, I think young ben could be killed and 2007 Ben could exist if he were on the oth side of the record, or alternate reality. I'm kind of hoping this 'alternate' reality thing doesn't hold up in a way...the idea of more than one of each character bugs me...I love the ONE of each of them ... My head might explode thinking about the possible alternative outcome of each event!

we know that ben lives at least until 2007. i believe that if sayid did try to kill him he would be unable to do so because of this simple fact. however, i could see a different side of the argument, if the losties are course correcting the past and are there to change something that wasn't supposed to happen (something like the incident), could it be possible that ben is part of their course correction?

Well, yes. I believe older Ben is manipulating everyone into their places to course correct the incident. Young Ben will have something horrible happen to him but not kill him. It will be the reveal to his personality. Why Ben is Ben. Don't worry, if young Ben is shot Jack will fix him again.

Mayb Young Ben is shot in the spine, making him paralyzed, in a wheel chair for the first time. As time goes by he gains the ability to walk again. Then later down the road he gets a tumor due to his previous injuries as a child. Just a thought
