I agree lostfan that the wreck was a set-up. I can't as yet go for the parallel theory

The wreckage found in the water was set up. For one reason or another Oceanic AirLines is responsible for planning it.

i remember i think it was episode 2 of the fourth season in one of the flashbacks of the four people who landed on the island, the helicopter pilots flashback. he said that the piots on the plane underwater was not the pilot that flew the plane, later killed by the monster. this shows there couold be some kind of set up. where did they get the bodies to stage it tho?

i think the oceanic six were paid heavily from oceanic airlines, not only as surviors but to tell their story, as Kate stated, so many times that Jack is starting to believe it himself, preventing the airline from getting busted for staging the wreckage in the ocean.

yeah i also think that oceanic airlines had something (if not everything) to do with them crashing on the island and then they covered it up.....later...Hanso corp has bought over the airlines....their commercials are wierd too...and there are clues and the numbers on some of their commercials and billboards

I think you summed it up perfectly phx and Jacks. I couldn't agree more.
