The very end of epi 5:11 john says to ben ""Hello Ben, Welcome back to the Land of the Living"

Alot people had a theory that the island was "purgatory"...maybe they were wrong and the island is where people live and the "real world" is purgatory?

Thats such a crazy idea i hate even posting it

Crazy yes, but that is the beauty of it, you never know with Lost. The producers have confirmed that the island is not purgatory, they didn't say anything about the "real world". That's half the fun of these forums, throwing crazy ideas out there and seeing who bites.:)

But I don't like the idea of little Aaron being left in purgatory, so I'm gonna have to disagree with ya.

not a crazy idea, Newbie, but one that has been established as false quite a while ago.
Why did John say that? well...I suppose because on the island, you stay living, whether you died before or not...as long as the island isn't through with you, anyway. Made sense to me.

I think Locke was just putting emphasis on the fact that he was alive and kickin'.

I bet you see Aaron and Sun's baby are both seen on the Island..in a flashFORWARD..?

It's actually ironic because if you think about it, they are both dead in a sense. Ben died when he was 12 years old. Locke died in Los Angeles.

You know, I think it would have been funnier if Locke had let Ben think he was really dead as an april fools joke. His last words would have been meaningless. :p

I maybe wrong, but I thought he said "LAND of the living." Either way I find it ironic that he said this when the fifth episode was entitled "This Place is Death."

As good as Ben is, he deserves it for killing Locke. He had no reason to kill Locke, cause he didn't go back to 1977 and pick on little Ben like everyone else did(so far as we know).

Besides, Locke is too good a man to kill Ben back. An april fools joke would be the least he could do.

I think Locke said "welcome to the land of the living" to Ben because the last time Ben saw Locke, Locke was very dead.
