Patchy is dead for sure. The guys said it on a recent podcast.. They also sort of made fun of the idea that he could still be alive since he pulled the plug of a grenade in his hand. He's dead.

Patchy was last seen by Charlie outside a window of the Looking Glass Station. While floating in the water he smirked at Charlie and pulled the pin on a grenade that blew out the window in Charlie's chamber, which flooded and drowned Charlie. So, did Patchy die in the blast or will he live again? Time will tell.

The force of the blast was directed at the window of The Looking Glass. Patchy pulled away right after he pulled the grenade pin. The residual force of the blast propelled him quickly to the surface. He washed ashore and was found by Rousseau. She has him tied to her metal bed and is doing her electricity torture, just for kicks. Patchy escapes, frees Ben and then snaps Ben's neck for being such an S.O.B. Patchy is number 6 of the O6, under an assumed identity. He goes back to his old gig working as number three for Dr. Evil (Ben's cousin).

See I can write for this show! Who cares about a writer's strike!

While it would be funny to have Patchy keep showing up after certain-death misadventures ala Jaws in the old James Bond films (give him a hook the next time we see him), my personal opinion is that Lost is going for a bit less over-the-top silliness. The shockwave from a hand grenade travelling through water that close to his body would kill him through internal bleeding, even if he weren't holding it. Then again, around that island, almost all bets are off. :rolleyes:

I don't know.. maybe it missed his heart and he wasn't dead and he wanted to stop Charlie bad enough that he could make it a little longer.. like Naomi with the knife in her back trying escape. But, he also survived after blood gushed out his ears.. that was weird! But either way, on the podcast they said he was definitely dead this time.
