Wasnt this season to explain 4 toed statue

I know we are only 3 episodes in, but i thought carleton cuse and damon lindeloff said season 4 would explain the 4 toed statue, wonder if that idea had to be scrapped with new shortened seasons?

well as we know richard and his troop are on the way to the temple - i am sure we will catch up with them at some point this season and it could well be explained or more info given to us then as i am pretty sure this temple is by the statue.

How do we know that the temple is a temple? I mean, the black rock turned out to be a ship instead of an actual black rock....know what I mean? Although the idea of a greek temple or something that ties in with the statue sounds very interesting.

1. The four toed statute may not take much time for them to explain. It may just be a conversation between Richard and Ben.

2. Have we already seen the Temple? Did'nt Ben tie up Lock'e father to some pillar on a alter were the Others were camping?

Maybe I am getting mixed up with somthing out, but isnt there a Myth, of the Greeks having a Flying boat? I cant think of what they were called, but possibly, if the island does have Greek ruins, possibly the island had somthing to do with this myth as well?

hmm...maybe the temple is actually the physical temple on the side of the fallen head of the 4-toed statue... i don't really think that but it's something ridiculous to bring up...

and the temple isn't near the ruins because they were at the ruins when ben told richard to leave and take everyone to the temple.... i think the temple will not be shown until the last 6 episodes of this season because i think they were waiting for the actor who portrays richard to get released from his work on the series Cane on CBS... i made mention of this on another thread as well
