was ben really trying to kill locke?

locke told sawyer he would have been dead had he not donated his kidney, but ben knew locke donated his kidney to his dad, so am i stretching too much in suspecting ben didn't mean to actually kill locke? locke was unarmed, ben surprised him at close range, and ben is very calculating so i'm sure ben could have shot locke in the head or heart had he really wanted to kill locke. granted locke fell in a mass grave, and ben seems to feel threatened by locke, but with this show you have to turn over all the rocks.

I think yes, Ben really wanted to kill Locke. He is threatened by Locke being able to see Jacob.

I agree James. some say he didn't intend to kill charlotte either, but just cause Locke and the losties to distrust her. I'm not so sure. In both instances, Ben did act a little surprised that he didn't kill them.

Well actually, I'm one who thinks Ben wanted to kill Locke, but I think there's something up with Charlotte and Ben. I think Ben knew Charlotte had a vest on, but that was discussed in a different thread.

I agree that he tried to kill Locke. My opinion is still out on the deal with Charlotte. But I'm leaning towards that he tried to kill her too; it's just too early to tell.

You're never too sure with Ben, if he had truly wanted Locke dead he could have shot him in the head. But instead chose the stomach...sounds fishy.

i'd be getting pissed if i were ben and the last two people i shot, didn't die. ben and locke seemed to exchange some wierd looks when they realized charlotte was wearing a vest. ben seemed as threatened by charlotte as he did with locke (but for different reasons) so maybe he wanted them both dead and his luck is running out. i think there's more to it, but i love a good conspiracy theory.

Charlotte is my second choice for the boat spy. I know on another thread you don't think Michael could be, but IMO he's the one. Anyhoo, Ben was real quick to shoot her the first chance he got. Which leads me to believe he knows much about her (hence the You-Bet-Your-Life type info he had about her) and does not trust her. But then again, all this could be set-up! Arrrgggh! My head hurts!!!:eek::D
