So it seems as sweet innocent Ben was killed by Sayid. Right before he dies Alpert takes him into the Temple where he reborned. But he is to not remember anything that happened and would be completely different much like in Pet Cemetary another King reference. This would answer validate Miles theory and disprove Hurleys question to Miles about why he doesnt remember Sayid in the future.

Now I have a problem with this because Ben obviously remembers his father during the purge and he also carries Annies dolls to reflect childhood memories. Seems as though if Miles theory is right then its just as bad as Charlotte's 79 birthdate. I really hope the storyline hasnt Ben messed up.

On the seson 4 dvd damon says something about how it could be like pet cemetary( but I think it was in relation to locke being resurrected) where you die and come back different. I think we just need one more little detail to figure out ben's memory issue, we just don't know at this point. But richard did say he won't remember any of this happened not he will forget everything that ever happened I think he just ment the event itself. whether that is just where richard took him and fixed him or getting shot and helping sayid isn't known yet.

My vote is that Ben will not remember what happens to him when Richard brings him to the temple only. It's pretty obvious that he remembers Sayid as he told him that he was always a killer when Ben went to visit him before they came back to the island. Ben used this knowledge to his benefit, having Sayid kill a list of people for him, who I believe, were Dhama folks from the 70's that will reveal themselves. The guy on the golf course and the Russian guy will be seen in DIville! Mark my words. This is Ben's ultimate revenge on the DI. He is finishing the purge for the Others as an adult.

I think the people Sayid kills are folks who left with Charles. I really don't think Charles left via the donkey wheel -- he didn't know/find the exit until after Ben used it.

That all makes sense to me. But Ben could know sayid is a natural born killer without remembering getting shot when he was a kid. Without that knowledge ben still knows sayid was a torturer/ revenge assassin and is capable of things most men aren't, i'm just saying it could still go either way with Ben's memory of the event.

Id like Richards lines word for word until he walks into the Temple. To me its seems Richard was saying he wouldnt remember anything that happened. I think Horaces wifes boyfriend has also been ressurected. They took him and probably left him in the Temple to be ressurected.

Why don't I think Charles used the Donkey wheel? Simple... he didn't know the exit until after Ben had used it. I think after Ben went through the energy spike or whatever let him ID the exit -- sort of like the guys we saw in the artic a couple seasons ago who were able to ID the island after the failsafe.

The next time someone goes through, Locke, Charles has surveillance setup. If he had known the exit, why wouldn't he have been watching all along?

i know ben arrived in Tunisia and was met by horsemen almost straight away. locke had to wait ,at least two hours for reception and that with cctv cameras on him.

As the Leader of the Others, I think Widmore did know the exit because it appears that Ben knew where the exit was when he went to that partial brick wall and removed some items from it. So he must have had some clue where it was or why would he have the things he needed once he left it.

I'm with you Waiting4 - I don't think he left by the wheel, I don't think Mrs H did either. I think they left of their own accord by another method (boat, etc). It would be interesting to know when Widmore left the island - pre or post the arrival of DI.....

Widmore leaves post DI arrival around 1984. Charlotte died because she spent the most time on the island, she got the nosebleed first they all would have died evetually if locke hadn't turned the wheel to stop the flashes it wasn't because there was a younger version of her or because she was born on the island. Miles was born on the island he's fine, the proof is that he got the second nosebleed, charlotte died first because she is older. Daniel said it had to do with duration on the island.

Yes the longer you are there the worse the disease is I think. Everyone has around the same time of being sick before you die. Once the flashes start the longer you've been on the island the faster you get your first nosebleed, the faster you die.

I thought of the Pet Cemetary thing too and mentioned on some other thread. I really think Richard just meant that ben won't remember the exact events in the temple. We know Ben remembers his life because he talks to his dad in the van about never remembering his birthdays(right before he kills him) I think Widmore left by donkey wheel, that's why he didn't come back.

I don't know if I agree about Charlotte dying because she spent the most time on the island because I thought a big part of her backstory was leaving the island when she was very young. But you made me think of something. If a person does get the sickness and die agter they spend too long on the island like you said. Unless they are reborn in the Temple! It is a way to prevent them from dying as the age on the island. Some other thread, someone brilliant mentioned the xray that Richard had shown Juliet in Portland. The seventyish looking insides of the woman that was 27. See where I am going with this?????? Geeez, Richard is VERY old!!!!!!
Okay, I think this is really working now. So, what is the sickness and why do they get it?
