Just a quick question, to start conversation...
Do you think that eventually all of our Losties die and are brought to the Temple to be revived/resurrected? Thus canceling out the memories of all of the things that happened before that point in time?! Which would make them all Others as Richard said about Ben.. "He will always be one of us." It would help rationalize WHH and why people don't remember WH. And also maybe thats why the island wants them back/needs them back, because they have always been/have become a part of the island itself??!

I am not really sure if every other is truely enlightened by the temple like Ben and Richard.I think alot of them could have been altered in room 23 and i am sure they know some secrets ,enough to make them very loyal but not to the degree that Ben and Richy are.Its not like everyone speaks to Jacob for example and you know who holds rank around that crew. of course we know they all have been in the temple at least when the freighter showed up so it really depends on what happens in the temple and we are apparently going to see tonight.

i don't think we know they've all been IN the temple. I'm sure they all went TO the temple. I could be wrong but i don't remember anybody saying they went in

That's an interesting theory, i don't really know what to say besides "that's an interesting theory". Give me a little time to think on this one.

My only thought to this is that Ben doesn't forget everything about his past when he's taken to the temple. He surely still remembers his dad, Annie, coming to the island, being a part of Dharma, etc. So I don't think anyone forgets everything that happened to them.

Im def not saying this is a theory I 100% believe in, just curious if there is any validity to the possibility that at least the O6 were somehow influenced by the temple or something in it, in the past/future, that has something to do with their memory loss. Do you think Richard wasn't telling the truth... that Ben would not remember anything that happened before he took him in to the Temple? Do you think its possible that Ben was told all the things you mentioned by Richard and doesn't in fact remember them himself? It's even possible he was told that he was born (reborn) on the island as opposed to him actually knowing/remembering. IDK! just want your opinion on these questions..

I agree with you that every 'other' hasn't been enlightened to the same degree.. just thinking about the time loop and why no one from the O6 would remember the things/people from their past on the island.

because the O6 hasn't remembered anything that happened on the past on the island is cause it's new to them. this is the first time that they have been to '77.

I think when Richard said Ben won't remember, he said "he won't remember this" as in strictly just won't remember being shot and healing in the Temple.
About 4 years ago (from 1977), Ben celebrated his 11th birthday and his friend Annie gave him a little statue/doll she made of herself. In that same episode, Ben has the statue/doll and is looking at it like a keepsake or special memory of his friend - so he definitely doesn't forget everything, and he has an emotional attachment there. So I don't think that's something he learned from Richard, but something he really did remember and have an attachment to.
I will say though, we are still waiting on confirmation about what the memory loss entails, and they could say just about anything when they explain it.

i like this theory, it would make sense and explain alot of things. But something about it just seems a bit too messy to me

Thanks for that reminder, i forgot about the doll.I see your point. It makes sense that there would be selective memory loss. I cant wait to find out some more detail about the Temple tonight! I'm thinking that Ben was sent back to the DI after his 'healing' and used by the hostiles as a spy, which ultimately will result in the purdge, and would explain, despite whatever memory issues, why Richey might have to fill in some of the blanks for young Ben... i think Ben will be 'used' like a pawn just like he uses others in the future as pawns.
