I had a few thoughts regarding everything LOST these days and had some quick questions for the braintrust here. First, with all this talk of time travel and what not, can someone please explain the box Ben was referring to when he said something like "Anything you can imagine will be in that box" or something like that. He talks of that and then Locke's dad shows up on the island. Please explain what all went on with that. My second question regards Hanso himself. I have heard that name thrown around for sometime and I guess I was spacing out or something but when was this guy referenced in an episode or episodes? I can't seem to recall his name being thrown out much on the show and didn't know why I see his name being so vital to the plot. Any help is greatly appreciated. God bless you all and have a wonderful day!

To answer your first question, there is no actual box. Ben was speaking hypothetically to get Locke thinking and to string him along. Ben actually admitted to that later in Season 3.
Question 2: I could be wrong, but I think the Hanso foundation was first mentioned in one of the first Dharma videos in the Hatch. Anything in these videos at this point can be considered important.

You asked for it. Talk about opening a Pandoras box.

Hmmmm...interesting!
Hanso Foundation ----> Apollo Candy Company (Apollo as in the four toed statue). Coincidence?
Were you able to make out the words/letters at the bottom of the Hanso Foundation page?

Haven't been on there in a couple of years but there are so many rabbit holes you can go down. It's endless insanity. I should go back for sh!ts and giggles.

I think I've just tied my brain in a knot, or that's how it feels anyways! I've got so many ideas and theories floating around up there, it's hard to keep track. I think I need to stop reading these threads and just wait it out untill Thurs.
Yeah right! Who am I kidding!

Ben was not talking about a real box. Only a metaphorical box.

I don't know if any of you have done this, but if you look at the page's source code for http://www.thehansofoundation.org, then you will see a lot of usual coding stuff, but also a link to Rachel Blake's website at http://www.rachelblake.com. Also if you hover over certain parts of the text on the page you will hear different noises, some that sound like voices. But the background music of the webpage make it hard to understand. On Blake's website it has a bunch of blog entries, the most recent one in all 0's and 1's. I can translate it, but there is a lot so it will take some time and effort.

The second most recent post on Rachel Blake's page is a picture, when clicked on takes you to this page: http://www.hansoexposed.com/...The plot thickens.....

Is this old or new?

I think this is old, the dates on the Rachel Blake page are from 2006. But it is new to me...and probably to others on here as well. I have translated the 0's and 1's and here is the result:

I can't find any meaning out of it....

The bottom of the page says something about a Life Extension Project, Educational Outreach Incorporated, Institute for Genomic Advancements Mathmatical Forecasting Initiative, Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Program, and Educational Outreach Imperative of the Hanso Foundation...with trademark symbols on them. That's pretty close anyway. So that will probably open a whole new thread of possibilities as to what The Hanso Foundation is all about.
