Yeah the Hydra is/was the underwater station. That's probably an air vent. I believe the Hydra lived in the water and had multiple heads. If you cut one off 10 would grow back or something like that.

i'm confused - what was the place they held jack in when he was a prisoner of the 'other island?'

Same place. Here ya go.

The Hydra station appears to have areas both above and below sea level. In the underwater section, Jack is a prisoner in the aquarium.

Are we sure about that... It seems that Hydra was a separate station that no one had contact with... Thats why no one knew anyone was down there except for Ben.

I could have swarn that he was held somewhere else....

Not according to the Lost bible.

If I remember correctly the Hydra was used for animal expirements and the Looking Glass was a communications station.

i think what has confused me is the hydra being so close to the island as its actually a part of the other island.

Wasn't the hydra station where Sawyer and Kate were kept captive? Where the polar bear cages were?

Yah thats what I thought since Jack was held captive there too in the empty shark tank or whatever...they said thats where they use to keep the shark. Haha makes sense it'd be called Hydra :)

ive posted about this b4 but... the hydra was a greek mythylogical creature that the god Apollo captured. Almost every Dharma station is related to Apollo one way or another. Dharma even bought out Apollo candy bars
