30 years from now

I think that when the plane crashed and the Losties went into the 70's our "leftovers" (Locke, Ben, Sun, Cesaer, etc.) are all 30 years from now. Look at the way things have changed on the island. If it were only the 3 years that had passed where are the rest of the 815 people and where are the rest of the "others" that had gone to hiding when Keamy and his crew showed up in the first place. Well...now that I'm thinking about it, even 30 years from now...where is everyone? All of the buildings just look so abandoned. You would think that once Keamy and his crew left and the O6 left, the houses would have become occupied by someone. The 815 crew and the others that were left could have co-habitated or something. Where is everyone?????

I believe that since the O6&co. were in dharma days, they stopped the purge. Dharma probably left or abandoned the barracks. In the barracks we know, there was no processing room sign anywhere. It was also cleaner. +, When Lapidus and Sun explored the barracks, I didn't see a blown up house. In season 4 episode the shape of things to come, Keamy blew up a house. So the O6 created an alternate 2007 island.

But I thought whatever happened, happened. I had said something about the future changing when we first saw the O6 went back but so many people ripped that apart.

I thought Keamy and his men were all wiped out by Ben and the Others? And as for the Others themselves, maybe they're back to hiding away in the temple.

I don't know what the deal is with the processing center. I mean, the Losties didn't find the front door to the hatch until season 2. Are we to assume that they changed the past for that to exist as well? It's a bit rediculous.

Keamy blew up the house before he died. I bet something with O6 led to Charles not being exiled. So if he wasn't exiled, than no keamy and no blown up house. Another theory is that ben dies in dharma days. As we all know, all the secrets of the island haven't been revealed. Maybe ben finds a way to become younger, than goes back in time. So ben could die because O6 dharma days would be his future.

Maybe they just didn't feel the need to bother showing the wreckage of that one house. And it was dark in most of the scenes at the barracks.

One thing I'm wondering about though is the house that Ben crashes the burning Dharma van into. It looks a bit different from all the other houses. Could that be the processing center? Maybe the fire didn't damage everything, but they decided not to use it after that happened and boarded it up.

I thought it was established that the processing center was down nearer to the pala ferry and not by the barracks.

I think the reason why the house that gets hit by the burning mini-bus "looks a bit different from all the other houses", is because it was just a quick slap together production house that was made to burn down for just that one scene. Most likely it was built on the very cheap, and designed quite differently then all the normal housing that is used for filming, but yet painted the same.

Most of the homes used for "the Barracks" are filmed at a YMCA camp, not a movie back lot. It's for this reason they cant blow the real buildings up. They did the same thing with fake buildings for the attack by Widmore's men. They can't keep the mock blown up homes around the YMCA camp after filming, so it has to be re-created in future episodes. With a limit on budget, I'm sure they need to do a quick job, and don't get the area to look just right every time.
