Remember when Faraday told Ellie that she had to bury Jughead with lead and concrete? Well way back in season2, there was a thick concrete wall in the hatch that sayid couldn't get through. I bet dharma picked up some waves from Jughead and decided to build a dharma station near it. Well dharma probably was messing around and triggered the bomb on accident. the bomb hadn't gone off yet so dharma and their infinete knowledge created the button to discharge it. when desmond turned the failsafe key, the explosion was probably muffled by the concrete. But look at how far away locke and eko were thrown after the implosion. Also did you know that a man named Gerard Degroot wrote a book on h-bombs like jughead. the co- founder of dharma was Gerald Degroot.

But does a H-bomb, which i believe it was, was creat a magnetic charge? I know there was lead there but remember when the button wasnt pushed after Locke destroyed the computer, the magnetic charge became more intense and everything was getting pulled towards it. I am thinking more along the lines of what Kelvin said that it was an EM. Whatever the "incident" was, it probably caused whatever experiment they where doing with electro-magnetism to go awry and had to release the energy every 108 minutes because that might just be how often the EM would take to build up before it needed to be disharged. THe swan wasnt built for the bomb. The bomb was on the Island in 1954, I believe, and the Swan wasnt built until some 20+ yrs later. Lets not forget that Radzinki was designing it in 1977 and still wasnt built yet in 1977 so I am not so convinced that the Swan held the bomb. I think the writers have made a huge distraction with regard to the Swan and the bomb, and on Lost nothing is as simpe as we all think. Of course I can be completely wrong but I dont think i really am

Well Kelvin was drunk. But i get what you're saying. Maybe dharma built the station for a different reason but than stumbled on jughead.

I think Swan has nothing to do with the H-bomb. We might never learn exactly what incident occured to cause the buildup of EM energy but I dont think the concrete was there to protect the bomb. Many real scientists believe in the presence of electromagnetic energy that eminates from the earth. Stonehenge is said to have been placed where it was because of the EM energy that flows from that point on earth. Remember the healer that Rose went to see that said he didnt heal anybody, the EM energy that comes from the earth around where he lives is the healing power he just has the ability to direct the energy
