Where is Richard Alpert in 2007?

We don't really know what he's been doing. He's definitely wandering the island somewhere, but he hasn't made an appearance in the present since fixing Locke's leg after he was shot.

Judging by how empty the barracks are now, I'd guess he's still hanging out in the Temple.

Locke was sitting in the plane so it had to be some time after Boone was in it and it crashed to the ground. I just am wondering when Locke had told Richard about it and how he remembers that conversation but doesnt remmeber giving Locke the compass? HMMMMM

I think that was a reference to when locke saw richard when he was time travelling, right after he was shot in the leg.

I notice the others werent in the barracks or the hydra or the wall by the temple, so that leaves - the temple, or wherever those fields were where they were camped out, or by the beach where they had the fake dharma door?

seeing as how the dharma door was fake and that the surrounding village was quite primitive, i dont think it would make as much sense for the others to go there....unless they decided there is more behind that door than they wanted to show us....this is lost after all.

I would think they were still in the Temple where Ben asked Richard to take the others.

We've seen the wall around the Temple, but we have no indication how far the wall is from the actual Temple, so there could theoretically be an entire society within those walls.

Richard Alpert and the Others aren't necessarily still in the Temple in 2007. The island is a big place. Locke, Ben, Sun, and Lapidus (the only characters we've seen on the main island in 2007, unless you count Alex and Christian) haven't run into the other 815 survivors who were left behind (and didn't time travel), either. The Others could be anywhere.

Then that still gives them plenty of room to make a living space.

We do have to remember, the Others were on the island before Dharma came along and built the barracks. They were living somewhere. So I have to imagine there is going to be an Others village that we have yet to see that has existed since the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if that village was built near the Temple since many early civilizations built towns around the religious center.

The Others vacated that area during season 3.

Seems to me the only reason they were over there is to hold Jack, Kate, and sawyer prisoner until Jack did the surgery.

I can't quite figure this out.. when Locke was jumping through time and he was shot by Ethan, then flashed to after Boone and him found the plane, and Richard showed up to his patch his leg, he said Locke told him that he was there and had a bullet in his leg, yada yada. What I don't understand is how Locke knew when he was to tell Richard. Richard showed up at nearly the perfect time, on the exact night that Locke was there. But how did either Richard or Locke know what night Locke flashed to after being shot by Ethan?

Richard and "The Others" are somewhere where the writers don't want us to know about. Because they never made it to "The Temple" at the end of last season.
