I was just thinking: anybody have any thoughts as to how much longer Desmond has been marooned compared to the 815ers? I know we had slash marks inside the Hatch indicating someone was keeping track of days. But was there any revelation otherwise? Thanks in advance!

I thought that he had said that he had been there for three years.

Do you think that he killed Kelvin or was it just for show?

I'm not convinced that Kelvin was actually killed by a rock.We never saw what happened after that. Desmond just left him assuming he was dead.

yeah we just saw him unconscious and bleeding and desmond kinda fled in a panic!

This maybe a nutty question and already discussed, but isn't Kelvin also Sayid's CIA rep in Iraq along with Kate's real Army father? I'm pretty sure it was Kelvin when I rewatched the epi.

This is confusing....
Desmond was there for 3 years.
815 crashed 3 years after.
Desmond has been there since 2001 and they arrived in 2004.
That math seems to add up. Which it wouldn't if there were goofy things going on with the time.
Doesn't this bust the idea that the button pressing was "resetting" the time?
Seems pretty clear that the timetravel/difference occurred when the electromagnetic thing in the hatch went kaboom. Which would explain how desmond survived and his life flashing before his eyes.

Thanks for the responses, folks. I do remember now that Desmond mentioned the 3 year thing. Which leads me to believe that the time anomalies theories are gonna be complex, especially since to the best of his knowledge it was three years and it looks like that matches up with what we've learned from the new arrivals to the island.

So you think not pushing the button might have messed up time? Good thought!!! BUT what about Richard?!?!?!?
