Who wants to make some guesses as to what Chang did with the dead body Miles delivered? Miles asked what happened to the body and Chang responded with "Body? What body?"
My thoughts are that the body is already in place for some early scientific experiments, possibly with the wheel. It's possible that the body is now in Tunisia at the exit point, or will be sent there soon. Either that, or the body is being preserved for future experimentation when the Orchid is ready.
Needless to say, I think we can all say with certainty that the body was not taken to the Orchid for a funeral.

part of me expected to see that guy wandering around again and a later point. but i like your idea that they were using him as a test subject regarding the energy they have found and possibly the wheel.
wont it be interesting if we see bram's corpse being used? lol!!

That's what Miles said, so remember to have your fillings removed next time you get an MRI scan.
They're probably testing to see the effects of timetravel on the corpse, maybe they ran out of bunnies...

That guy must have been really close or something.. Desmond lived in there for quite some time, and while he did mention his fillings always used to bother him, he never had one pulled through his skull..

Des always had the Swan surrounding him...The unfortunate fellow that had dentalwork yanked through his forehead probably was the first guy to dig just a bit too far into the magnetic epicenter.
Doesnt it seem that he would have something else metal on him at the time...belt, zipper, anything?

Maybe they sent the dead body off to Tunsania.... It could just appear in the desert somewhere.

Nah...They're hippies. They wear hemp belts and buttons instead of zippers.

LOL, you know what I mean. Even shoelace rings in their boots, anything right?

Your right about that though. The only thing metal on him was his filling...Hard to believe...but even if there was, it wouldn't have killed him.

miles said something about a bullet wound at first glance at the body

Actually, Miles made a reference to the dead guy being shot in the head the moment he first saw the Dharma crew put the body in the bag, Radsinzky didn't confirm that comment.
Once Miles talked to the dead guy he knew that it wasn't a bullet but the filling.

I think the body will be examind. As to what whent wrong and how it could be prevented in the future. But I don`t think it will be showing up in the future or frozen. Just A normal obtopsy and medical examed. The study will be documented ovcourse. How they dispose of the body is another story. It could be used in expierments. As far as the wear and tear of the body goese, you just couldn`t get A live reaction as to how it makes you feel.

it does look like a bullet wound at first - however when he looks closer, its like an exit wound of sorts which would gel with the filling story.

i would say someone would definetly be doing an autopsy on this guy.this is **** they would need to know to prevent such things from happening again.

I just had a crazy thought (I know, what's new? LOL). What if the spirit of the body of Alvarez and the other guy who was injured in the Orchid are Smokey? Maybe Smokey is the spirit of the dead killed on the island.
Smokey did not kill any women and when he found Juliet and Kate, there was a flash (he xrayed them?) then he backed away. Remember Alvarez was thinking about his girlfriend? And Miles said some of his last thoughts were about some girl? Maybe the other injured guy, if he died, was also thinking about a girl? We know that Alex-a girl-a virgin? was representing Smokey. Just a very wild thought here about a creature we have no exact theories about. If the "bodies" were disposed of or thrown into the bomb pit under the Swan, maybe that combined with the supernatural powers of the island, and the metallic dust and voila--- a new creation. A monster spirit that searches for its lost Lenore, has found a home in the temple, has unfulfilled dreams and in its anger punishes and judges those it finds. A sort of angry dead thingy. Thoughts? Go ahead, make my day!LOL:D

Okay - remember Hans Solo dying in the cold? Alright and I am sure they took him to eitehr the palce where we were last week - The Osirion or to the temple above - the TEmple of Osiris which is where I think RA took Ben. How can I be so sure. The Djet Pillar, Thoth (represented by ursa minor - the bear) and the resurrection of the dead king with the white crown (amother word for tooth is crown) and the crown was on the top of his head!
The story comes from the book of the dead and is about resurrecting this dead king. We also have the elements of the number 4 - four pillars which may represent four pieces of the tree where they found Osiris's coffin. Remember the wrods on the chalkboard - The word of god with a circle and four sticks. Just read the story and it will all be revealed:

This is interesting. But I posted some theories about smokie today in several threads. Look up my posts because I think I have been possessed by the God of LOST and am clearly overly obsessed at this point and have mae too many posts to remember which is which. Where is that Osiris God of knowledge when you need him? LOL

Very good! Did Richard find the temple and was he somehow inducted into the Lost Egyptian mythology with its mysticism, temples and deities? So it is their duty as guardians and Smokey's duty to protect the temple and the Osiris' pillar, from outsiders or defilers? Is that Ben's sole reason for keeping the island safe? Do the guardians have to be judged if they violate Osiris' standards and fail Osiris? That symbol with the four sticks inside a circle, is on the hieroglyph in the temple showing Anubis and the snake.

I completly agree. Wasn't the story Chang told Miles that the guy fell into a ditch? Well, I guess he fell head first! The EM yanked the filling right out of his head. What a way to go. Also, it would really be obvious that it was not a gun shot. The filling exited his skull where a bullet would have entered it. A big difference in what it looks like. A bullet entrance wound is generally more precise and the exit wound is large and uneven in shape. Anyway, I think Chang would have been very interested in an autopsy to see what else the EM may have done to his body. I don't think he would have done any time travel experiments on it and I don't think Chang is messing with the wheel at all. He is using the power from the wheel by way of the Orchid.

...they need the key of eternal life represented by the ankh so that when the coming war occurs, those who have the key can live and destroy everyone consolidating their power into a "new world order"...is my guess. And we are approaching 2012 which many religions and nostradamus have predicted there will be a great happening and all that remains after the event which will cause great upheval and natural disasters will live in a greater age of enlightenment after all is revealed. The day of 12-21-2012 is the last day on the Mayan calendar and the date many have thi common prediction. Many beleive that this event has happened before and either magnetic polar shifts occur or great earthquakes and volcanoes. Polar shifts cause great ice melts and floods. Nostradamus has also made predictions. Some believe he had an in with the Knights Templar who may have gotten the grail - which I believe plays into this story and the black rock and it is called by other names - ark of the lost covenant, the smoke moster - cannot recall the name - in one of my threads and others. I am wondering if Richard Alpert is actually Magnus Hanso who was referred to on the blast door and who arrived on the island around 1881.
As always it is about the battle between bad and good, but if you read the myths, it is clear that one cannot survive without the other an they have a mutal need base. When imbalance occurs and one side gets too strong, the Gods step in and do things to restore balance whcih typically is preceded by cataclysmic events.
One other thing. They are all seeking the knowledge to obtain eternal life and are coveting whatever they can learn. Ben is beside himself that Locke knows things and is questioning him to try and figure out the how of Locke's knowledge. The Hanso foundation knows a new age will be ushered in as tehy profess that is what they seek although they are clearly corrupted. I think they all want the power of Osiris whom I believe is Locke. Whoever has that power has the power to judge and grant eternal life or destroy. That is why they go to that Temple because it is there that the body of Osiris is said to be laid.
In our story, the catastrophe may simply be the war itself like in Star Wars where the evil emire grew too strong. Most epics are simple rewrites of the classics. This is beyond anything I have ever seen or read.

Just a little off topic but I really wanted to ask you something. You make postings all the time about 12/21/2012. So, do you personally think the world will end on that date? Or are you just trying to relate it to Lost? Thanks.

That symbol with the four sticks inside a circle, is on the hieroglyph in the temple showing Anubis and the snake.
I think the circle represents the four sons of Horus - the pillars. It hs been said that the ark requires not only the body of Osiris but the four sticks to operate. I think these colums may be in the Osirion. I think the eye is Horus. Isis should be there as well as Thoth and Annabis. Set may even be there. I think that is Ben and I think Ben will be killed as Set was.
The serpent is confusing although serpents have often represented God throughout many religions including Christianity but Thoth has also been represented by a serpent. Smokey is probably represented by ammit. It is also possible that all three are representations of thoth as thoth in tirnity as thoth had the ability to change his form. This could represent god the Father, the son and the holy spirit as well. The ark of the covenant has often been misunderstood to be god but is not.
Note that Osiris is also analogized to Christ, Mercury, Hermes and Hanuman. The show clearly is comparative in nature and you can probably use all of the characters from Star Wars to figure out who they are in the scheme. Comparisons are key. And the characters do not always compar plainly from one myth or religion to another as for example the serpent and thoth and God. Some say that Thoth is actually god and self born as just another representation. These are all representations of our actors.
But then these are only my theorires of Lost whcih seem to be coming together for the first time in five years!

In the big pit of DI bodies, where Ben shot Locke, there was a body with what looked like a gun shot wound in the head. Even though Alvarez died well before the Purge happened, couldn't his body have somehow ended up there? It probably was autopsied, and maybe held (somewhere for some reason), and after the Purge when the Others could freely roam Dharmaville, they could have found it and dumped it with the rest of the bodies.

Ok, I brought up this thread again because of the Djed pillars you referenced
headscratch! I just wanted to add what I found at the British museum-- that "the Djed pillars were among amulets most commonly placed on mummies. (John almost looked mummified in the coffin) The amulets were used to represent the abstract concept of stability. They were placed with the mummy so that it could stand up--like a good luck spine! The pillars were associated with the god Osiris and were said to represent his BACKBONE. A picture of the pillars amulet and paintings of the pillars shows it is just one column with 4 flat horizontal stones tiered and separated laid upon a pedestal.See www.britishmuseum.org and search for Djed pillars.
Now here is what caught my eye. (the "eye" of BB-LOL) The spell in the Book of the Dead associated with the Djed pillars amulet calls out to the god:
"Raise yourself up Osiris! You have your backbone once more. O weary-hearted One, you have your vertebrae!"
This is exactly how John has returned to the island. Off-island, he had very little backbone and was getting very weary! Now he has his vertebra back and has plenty of backbone from what we have seen so far. Just thought it fit with what was being theorized here. Loved that!!:)
