I think she is an Other or has come into contack with them. How else would she know about What lyies in the shadow of the statue? Unless she is fluant in Egyptian writing and read something on the statue or she heard whispers that asked her that question? IDK. But it seemed like A password to let her know who is friend or foe. I wonder how she knows about this

Kind of reminds me of What one snow man said to another.

i poste this a moment ago. Heres is my theory on the subject:
I dont think that the answer to the riddle is that important. I think that KNOWING the answer is the important thing. I dont believe there is any real significance to what lies in the shadow......
I think the significance is that if you know the answer, you are part of Ilana and Bram's movement. Whoever they may be.
Personally, i am leaning towards them being DI. Possibly spearheaded by Eloise Hawking.
But my point is, i dont think the actual answer is all that important. I think being able to answer the code is the important thing

I think you guys are going down the yellow brick road. I think a civilization lives in the shadow of the statue. I think both the answer and knowing the answer are very very important.

I don't agree or disagree with the civilization part, but I completely agree with both the answer and knowing the answer are important. Most likely, someone instructed Bram to take Miles before he got on the freighter and try to talk him out of it. Most likely, that someone was the same someone who sent them all back there (in my opinion, the new DI leader). If he was a part of their team, then they wouldn't have to persuade him to not join the freighter team. If was not part of their team, then they knew he wouldn't know the answer, so why bother using a pass phrase like that on someone you know can't answer it. Rhetorical? I doubt it. The only thing I really worry about (and wouldn't be surprised if it were the case) is that perhaps we don't even really know which statue they're talking about. It could very well be a statue inside the Temple, or perhaps one underneath, where Smokey resides.

This is all theoretical, and I could very well be completely wrong. But until we hear the answer and hear an explanation of it, I'm gonna keep on guessin'.
