"8 people survived the crash" story

When Jack said this on the witness stand for Kate, I thought..hmm that's a lie obviously, but then I remembered the coverup.

The duplicate Oceanic 815 in the bottom of the ocean.

When if Ben is blackmailing the Oceanic 6 - he does know everything about them - so he blackmails Jack into saying 8 people survived the crash and Kate adds that they lost 2 people later on...

Why does it have to be ben, apparently whoever sent the frieghter knows everything about the Oceanic 815 flight. esp. if they are the people who are responsible for the cover up with the fake crash in the ocean.

In the finale episode of season three Jack said he is tired of lying.
They prbly didnt make up that story themselves.
I'm thinkin the poeple tht rescued them are makin them lie

I believe that the people who landed on that island may have been surprised to see that there were survivors, but I don't think that the people who hired them to come on the boat were as clueless, for some reason... ?????

I also don't think that anyone is really blackmailing Jack, Hurly or Kate... I do think that they have been threatened... I mean, I think that Ben's line last week about continuing to protect Sayid's friends meant either the losties left behind... or Jack, Hurly, Kate and Aaron. Either way, I think Sayid would do what he had to do in order to protect them all...

I think that Jack, Hurly and Kate are having to keep quiet until Sayid kills everyone on the list....
