I dunno I was there in the 90's it was cool to me, but I was a bulletproof 18year old punk rock kid then.
I've also lived in Grey's Ferry, S. Philly which was definetly a way worse neighborhood...
Luckily now I live in fabulous, SAFE Portland.
lol.

Oregon. I think I would be a wee bit bored in Portland Maine. PDX is just my size though, not to big, but not too small either, nice people for the most part, good cost of living and tons of great food.

Actually, Park Slope has been Yuppie central for quite some time. Williamsburg and Bushwick are more recent additions to the gentrification of Brooklyn.

Yeah, I heard Senator Chuck Schumer lives in Park Slope. I haven't looked at apartments over there personally, but I heard prices are almost as bad as Manhattan, which have reached absurd levels.
+1 for gentrification of NY by the way.

Yes, he does. I recall that he used to live in Midwood, where I grew up, and in an attempt to verify on Wiki, I saw that he got a 1600 on the SAT. Probably not too common for Senators!
