Was there more that Desmond was supposed to communicate to Eloise?

At the 3:06 mark in this video, we see Faraday telling Desmond to "go back to Oxford, find my mother..." and then he disappears.

But when Desmond finally meets up with her, she suggests that she is already helping them (Jack, Sun, etc.) get back. So what purpose was Desmond supposed to serve in meeting up with Daniel's mom. Was there something else that Faraday was trying to communicate to Desmond that needed to be communicated to Eloise? Or what other purpose could there have been for Desmond to meet up with her the way he did?

Yeah, there was something missing there. Except unless you assume that whatever Daniel wanted, Eloise had already "heard" before Desmond got there.

Who in particular, originally directed the Oceanic 6 to see Eloise?

Was it Ben or Locke?

Locke told Ben before he killed him that they needed to see Hawking. Then Ben brought everyone to Hawking when Hawking told Ben to bring them all back.

Here is Desmond's message for Eloise at The Lamppost:

"I came here to deliver a message." To Eloise, he says, "Daniel, your son, sent me here. He wanted me to tell you that he and all the other people on the island need your help. He said that only you could help them. He didn't say Jack, he didn't say Ben. He said you."

"But I am helping, dear."

"Consider the message delivered."

So even though Eloise was already helping get people back to the Island, Desmond did his part to warn her that everyone on the Island was in danger.

I'm thinking that another part of the reason for Daniel sending Desmond to his mother was that Daniel knew Desmond could play an important role in saving everyone on the Island, based on the fact that, according to Daniel, the rules don't apply to him, and he is special. If Desmond had stayed at the Lamppost, I'm sure Eloise could have instructed him on how exactly he could help save the lives of all the peopole they left behind.

Didn't Christian tell Locke before Locke turned the FDW to go see EH? Then Locke told Ben and here we all are. As far as what more (if anything) Faraday wanted Desmond to do, I'm sure there is, and if this week's episode's preview is any indication, we're going to find out a lot.

Yea, I agree wit everyone. Daniel probably had no clue that EH is trying to help as he doesn't kno when Des remembered the msg. By the time Des does remembers and goes to find EH she has been helping. And plus Dan goin to Des could just be another way to let us know that Des is still needed on the island.

I agree the upcoming epi is gonna be awesome.
