Plus Kate reaaaaaalllly feels betrayed by Mom. She couldn't shake that. To open up the most precious part of her life to the one who betrayed her (after being saved by Kate) would be sacrilege.

aaron isn't kate's kid. kate could be worried her mom might figure that out and expose her again.

so many times Kate tried to see her mom and all she did was call for help all but the one time in the restaraunt. I don't blame her for wanting her out of her life. hey, ya wanna dance, ya gotta pay the fiddler

second thought - if i were the writer, i would have let kate's mom meet aaron (who kate would have been calling by a different name) and have her mom say something to the effect that the baby doesn't look like kate just to really confuse us. i'd have even a bigger headache than i have right now.

An interesting thought, but I think that Kate's mom betraying her multiple times would be enough for her to hold a grudge. Think about it, even AFTER Kate's mom called the police on her, Kate has just gotten back from surviving a plane crash and living on a deserted (well, not exactly) island and her mom is a witness against her in her murder trial. I wouldn't exactly want her seeing my son after that either...

Also think back....we know Aaron is apparently "special" and the guy warned Claire to never let anyone else care for the baby but her. Perhaps Claire and Kate made some sort of pact that Kate would protect Aaron and so Kate isn't letting others see him or bring him into the real world....remember she mentions "you didn't let him see the tv did you?"...that could just mean she didn't want Aaron to see her mom on tv OR it could mean she doesn't want him to see much stuff in the outside world? Hell I don't know...rambling again haha.

Based on Aaron's age, I would guess that about 2-3 years have passed between the island and Kate's trial. And they did telegraph that one. I was expecting either that, or a baby that looked just like...................Hurley!

Now THAT would have been something to gossip about!
