So i just assumed Christian drank himself to death but now that we know what happened to Locke and how they both seem to have been brought back to life by the island . Do you think there could have been some foul play that lead to Christian's death. His death seemed to set things in motion as far as getting Jack to the island.

I think the Christian we see on the Island is a sort of time created clone, kind of like bunny #15. Why it was done I have no idea though.

I'd like to add the recreation of 815, both "wanted" to die. Locke knew from RA that he must die in order to bring the O6 back and Christian was trying to drink himself to death ( suicide). I agree about the parallels. So maybe Ben swooped in to choke CS with an extension cord???

Could be that Cristian is very important to the island so his whole life was leading up to that trip, that day ,that year he knew he was going to die to go back to the island to help end what he was part of.We don't know alot of his childhood, but we know Jack's grandfather knows of the island.
