is claire really off the island or is she dead

i think she's dead but who killed her well, maybe locke got mad and shot her or maybe the black smoke killed her while she was out looking for kate saying where are you going and "wam" the black smoke comes right up to her and killers her and then kate has to go back and take care of the baby and take aaron with her to the island and that when the helicopter comes and they get off the island.

furthermore i dont see why she would want aaron to leave the island while she stays behind... if aaron could leave why couldnt claire, unless she's dead.

Maybe there was a strict order give by Ben and his people as to whom could leave and who stays behind.

Let's not forget that Richard Alpert and a few other of Ben's followers are still on the island in hiding. Ben clearly makes it off the island and he does so in a position of strength, or else he wouldn't be sending Sayid around the world to kill people for him. Ben will definately regain his power at some point in the near future and this will greatly alter our understanding of how, and why, only 6 people make it off the island.

I really hope Claire hasn't died. She has been one of my favorites since day 1. But sadly, I think she has died. Never would she leave Aaron.

you know, i LOVED claire while she was still pregnant but after she had the kid, all she ever seemed to say was "my baby" this and "my baby" that in that high pitched aussie accent.... got kind of annoying.....i do hope she's still alive though

Maybe she got off the island, but the people wanting Aaron would be looking for him, so she had Kate take him and pretend that he is her's and Sawyer's to protect him and maybe she says in her story to the public that she lost the baby when they crashed. Or maybe it really is Kate's baby with Sawyer and maybe she just names him after Aaron because Claire and Aaron end up staying behind?

Or maybe Claire gets off the island, just doesn't make it back to civilization. At the beginning of the season when they mentioned the Oceanic 6, I went back and checked the show when Desmond gives Charlie his vision about Claire and Aaron getting off the island. All he says is "he push the button, and Claire and Aaron get on a helicopter". What's not to say that the helicopter doesn't crash or that the helicopter simply brings them to the freighter and Claire is killed. I'm going more with this, because I believe that Desmond's vision is accurate, I just feel it sucks that Charlie dies so Claire and Aaron can live, and obviously something happens to Claire along the way

I definetly do not think that it was Claire in the coffin, I think I remember them talking about who ever it is and saying He. I could be wrong...does any one else remember? I hope Claire isn't dead and that she is still living in captivity on the island.
