Can't Dan come back even if he's dead?

But if he really did die, can't they just do the same thing they did to Ben wen he was shot? Only Dan won't be the same person?

If they wanted to I think they could but he's not really an other or prospect other like ben and I don't know if the island would "choose" him like how richard said to widmore "the island chooses who it chooses" I don't think it would happen cause I think you have to be really "special" but I guess you never know.

Nice I didn't know that. But they didn't really explain all of the terresa stuff and what exactly he did so I would guess younger dan but who knows

I still think Richard saves Dan - his parents were both Others, although his dad definitely isn't in the Others Hall of Fame, but Richard seemed positive Dan wasn't going to shoot him so I think there's a larger connection between Dan and Richard than we know at this point.

I agree. Dan saved the Island in 1954 when he told The Others to bury Jughead.


Even if Dan isn't meant to be a leader or anything, I doubt Richard would just leave him to die without helping, and I'm almost positive Dan's last comment to Ellie affected her enough to take action as well.

I think Dan has always said that to her, that's how she knew what would happen to him when she sent him back. If he had never said that to her she might have never found out who he really was.

I've got this feeling that the Island isn't finished with Dan yet. As we know, the Island will heal people. Locke was shot, but miraculously healed up. Richard bringing Dan into the Temple to be healed like Ben is a possibility, but I think it will be something else.

But IF Daniel DOES die-- I wonder if his "Variable" will change future events.

While he may be officially dead in terms of the show... the question of could someone take his body off the Island and bring it back... and he'd be like Shepherd/Locke? The answer is... it depends. Clearly the Island wants those to to be around. Just like it used Alex to talk to Ben. I think Daniel is now another 'suit' the Island can choose to wear if needed.
