We find from DF that Jack isn't supposed to be back on the island.

why is that?
is that why sun is in 07?
Does this apply to Kate and Hurley as well?
Where is jack supposed to be? dead?
---my fav--- where is DF getting his info from?

Well, hi again, Sirchie, hey...we followin' each other around or what?!:D

Uh...I think Jack's supposed to be there ... just not THERE in l977. Why did everyone including Ben (who is never wrong:eek:) say they had to go back or should never have left in the first place??? Nah... right now that's what I'm thinking.... that they just shouldn't have been in '77.

Somewher along the line, Daniel made a false assumption. He believed in someone/something that wasn't true. He was in the midst of correcting the error, but didn't know for sure what it was. Like THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE was going through his head, but I don't think he knew what did compute.

He knew that whatever his mom had engineered was motivated by wicked deceit for some evil intention, but he was powerless to resist her.

It doesn't mean that Jack isn't supposed to be there. It means the reason Faraday thought for Jack being there was untrue.

That makes more sense.
I think.
Thank you.

Someone posted a great theory of why they flashed off the Ajira flight last night. I forgot which thread it's in. What they said essentially, is that Jack et al, flashed off the plane because that was the moment they ceased to exist on the island. Da da da dummm! I like the idea! It's very cool if you think about it.

that is probably the most intelligent thing anyone has come up with, in regards to them leaving the plane. Now what does that tell us about what happened if indeed it's true?

Well, that's just it...I don't know. I have been giving it lots of thought. The first question is, did they flash off the place in 2007 or 1977? In other words, do they all die in 1977? I don't think so because there wouldn't be much of a show left. So, we need to first try and pinpoint the timeline that this happens. That is the most difficult thing to do. I still say there are two timelines here. Two worlds we are watching. So.....IDK!

cease to exist. how so? I see them still on the island.
...

I always thought Jack was supposed to be dead in 815, but he is alive. why? His father was on board (dead). Upon entering the Island "bubble" Christian wakes up (like Lock) and works for the island to keep Jack alive. This fits his him well. Sacrifice a peaceful rest (dead), to live forever as the islands apparition. all to save your sons life.
We know he desired to be a better father (the watch. lost missing parts).
We know he wakes Jack up on the Island (from dead?).(LMP, and pilot episode)
He asked Lock to say hi to his son for him, knowing that jack is off island and SHOULD never be back.

Jack is now back, under the false direction of E. Hawking. Why send him back if hes not supposed to be there? to change the future.
she said "for the first time in a long while, i dont know whats going to happen next." Implying we are in uncharted territory.
Is jack the variable that can change things? I think so.

Jack is supposed to help create the incedent, even though he believes that he will be preventing it.

He also needs to leave before the Dharma doctor comes back from the Looking Glass or just runs into him, because he is Jack's father. That is why he knows about Eliose and destiny and pushes his son to do all this stuff.

If jack creates incident that inevitably leads to all of them on island, is that why he is so strong willed in his desire to leave island in 2004? Does jack know that when they crash it's his fault and that propels his insatiable desire to leave?

The idea of two timelines fits into the comic book that alpert shows young john, the world floating on top of another. The two timelines are parallel to each other and react and change depending on the other.
