Where is the chopper?

Obviously, because of time differential on the island, it is taking the chopper much longer to reach the boat. Could it be that the O6's trip off the island also took a long time, which is why Aaron aged as much as he did?

Then again, perhaps they've been off the island for a long time, or it took a while for the trial to get going.

If there is such a time difference on the way back to the freighter, then why wasn't there one for the helicopter on the way to the island?
