What's with the info that appears at the bottom of the screen this season? Are we that numb that we can't put things together in our OWN MIND?! And I could do without the trivia facts that aren't relevant to the episode. Does ABC hold their viewers in such low regard that they feel they have to hold our hands like this?

How many people were so adamant that Naomi was alive? Now they know that she really is dead.

I like the subtitles for little things like that, but really I think they're for the new Lost fans, to try to get people into it. I keep hearing "It's not to late to get Lost".. Lost fans are soo into this show, I think some people think they can't get into it at this point (I know a few people that think that), and the show is trying to help those people get caught up so the fan base will grow.

Agreed. My friends are trying to catch up b/c I talk about it all the time and it's kinda hard to pick up on a NORMAL show this far into it. With Lost....c'mon. And yeah you start watching it from the beginning, but you also wanna see what's going on now while it's still on so I think it just brings everyone up to speed. And yeah it quashed the Noami's alive theory.

More new people are becoming "LOST". Since some fans stopped watching the show and found out they are getting off the island Season 3 sales are up and the viewer numbers are increasing. Or it could be designed for the short bus people like me.

geez chill out dude!
I think those little pop ups are cool and are a good refresher when MOST people have other things going on in there life and they forget...plus besides that they give up some cool insight on the little things with the writers/producers and the little touches they give into creating this show....

gives more air time into the story line without having them talk about where they are. I think it's good. it seems to be a common theme in tv shows at the moment. perhaps they've taken on a new writer?? gives them a fresh perspective. I was starting to get bored with S3 so it's nice to see that S4 is looking like it's going somewhere. gives a new spin on the show. there has to be some intro on the newbies (4 sent to the island) and it's good it's not a whole episode cause it would drag out to be session 5 before it gets anywhere. Great time saver!

Don't forget there was a writers strike. It was also a good filler.

I like the subtitles too. It's not done on any other show (Except pop up videos on VH1),
we can all miss little things here and there it's just a recap, at least they don't do it on the original airing. I don't think they're implying we can't keep up with out them, they just wanted to try something different, that's what the show is about.

OH yes the subtitles are great, it also lets us know what is important and what we need to remember...such as the ash around Jacobs cabin, how the ship is 80 nautical miles away from the island, that the fact Ben told Michael to stay on the coordinates as well as Dan telling Frank to stay on the same bearing shows us more clues as to the properties of the island...the list goes on, I'm actually excited to see the subtitles for next week! :)

Yah I think the subtitles would be super annoying if you had never seen the episode before, but after watching it a couple times I don't mind the subtitles because I already know whats happening so they just reinforce things I saw or maybe had missed. I give 2 thumbs up!! :D

I don't mind them on the rerun either. But I definitely wouldn't want to see them on a new episode.

No way, I wouldn't want either.. I think that's why they annoyed me so much in the recap special.. Even thought it was all old news, I wanted to watch the special and the stupid pop ups kept interrupting my watching.

But the previous weeks rerun is usually already fresh in my mind, so I don't have to try to watch both the pop ups and the show at the same time.
