Fringe is a different story/series completely. Last night they explained the entire premise of the series Lost.

However, Fringe is closer to a science fiction version of our "current times".

They are exploring all sorts of "ESP" and other events related to the "medical dosing" of a group of people (thats the Sci.Fi part). These are connecting these individuals to a prediction of some cataclysmic event to occur in the future. And with that catacylsmic event they have connected terrorism into the mix (thats our current times). Each week they are exploring how these individuals are responding to this impending terrorist event/doom. Basically an "end" of the world scenario (or end times scenario) with a SCI-FI twist to it so the plot is not obvious to the casual observer.

I like the show....its interesting. Very smart writers they are.

Anybody notice the book, Arthur C. Clark's Childhood's End?

some of it is about a group of people who move to an island. on this island some of the kids start dreaming things. eventually they become enlightened and evolve to the next level of man kind. All the parents are left on this island, and they as the last people left decide not to live without their kids and blow up the island with a nuke.

another part talks about observers in theses large machines that can make them go all over the world and see that place, but not actually be there. its a projection of them. they can also send their voice places as well with no image. (whispers?)

another part deals with a man who hides on a space ship that is going half way across the galaxy. once he returns to earth, the bomb has gone off on island and all the kids are evolved. He has experienced time dilation, as he now has aged a month, while earth experienced years. he witnesses earth fall apart all around him......

theres more to this book. I always linked this book to lost, because of their obvious theme and plot similarities.
