Purge-part 2

Hi all, Last week I started a thread invloving who may have ordered the Purge. I thought it had to be Charles but was wrong. I was watching Through the Looking Glass last night and Ben told Jack he ordered it and killed over 40 people. There had to be more than 40 people in Dharma right? Does this mean most of the people evacuate the island? Is Ben lying? Why would he get to order it if Charles/Ellie were still in charge at that time? Any thoughts?

I think the purge happened after widmore was kicked off the island, because it was widmore that was working with dharma. Once he was gone, ben or whoever was calling the shots opened the door to get rid of the rest of the DI

When we see Widmore being kicked off the island we see Ben pushing Alex on the swing set at the Dharma housing complex though

remember Ben had said to Charles that he kept coming and going. Ben could have very well ordered the purge while Widmore was on one of his "business trips" but that would mean that he would've had to take an alternate way off the island other than the sub or the FDW.

true,, I think there is another way off the island--has to be Richard kept leaving to find Locke all the time
