View Full Version : The Tunnels...? and the Others?

Just how much stuff on the island was built by the ancient egyptians? And all that was built seems to be of the most importance to the island. Now that we have seen the tunnels, where do you think they lead? the temple?

And when Locke asked richard if there were any others, richard said that there was a group at the temple. Who is still at the temple? And why didnt they move to the beach with Richard and the rest?

Oh God, here is a thought. Maybe the ones at the temple are Richard, Jack and the crew in the past. Perhaps There is a time loop going on. And John is in no way on goods side anymore. I believe the writers conditioned us with purposeful writing to believe in fate and what is good for the island. Now the mindf*ck comes and good is actually evil, and what happens can be altered. And all along your favorite villain of Ben transforms and begins to do the right thing, which I am not convinced he ever did not do the right thing. Most methodical writers enjoy knowing they're plots and using them to manipulate the reader or viewer. This is an Ayn Rand technique, who is all about free will. GImme a free will vote

Just saying I am a Rand fan. Ha, but ya I think time can change. I just feel like the positioning of the timeline we see the events unfolding is so deliberate by the writers that it has to be a setup for a battle of peoples freewill writing their own fate. I saw an interesting post where someone talked about Locke saying find me when I am born, insinuating he controlled his fate all along. I am getting a very bad vibe from John since he came back... Though I won't rule out anything at this point

It seems to be making Richard and Ben wonder if John is still recklessly winging it, or if he's being very misled (still being used perhaps?), or if he indeed has suddenly been handed a "loaded gun" so to speak, perhaps not for the ultimate good....

Ya. John was always being used. How can that change on a whim. It can't be Locke. I can't swallow that

I'm kind of coming back full circle again to my thoughts about destiny and John's lot in life that he is forever the pawn. ?
Sorry to anyone who has loved John (I myself have from the beginning) .... but.... I still kind of think he's a false prophet.

The exact phrase I've used about John Locke since day one...a false profit.

Hell Yes!!!!! MY Biblical allusion coming true I made a month ago. Remember the scene in the church, Ben to Jack, in the end we all believe. Sincerity in Ben's voice. He knew all too well since day one what was happening. And he and Richard knew who John would be and tried killing him multiple times. Then they tried manipulating him. Tying into another post I made in the one thread, Ben is being tempted like Jesus was with lots of power and privelage, and he has not once bit on it. Looking out only for his people, and not killing babies. haha. my two cents. and lock is the false prophet, the antichrist of the island

Ahhh, sorry, but you lost me on the Jesus thing....wrong religion. All I know is that I've said I didn't trust Locke since season 1. He has always had this strange aire about him.

It's gotta be so hard for him, who knows better, to have to just stand there at times and let John do what he's going to do.... have you ever just stopped and looked at Ben's expressions then? (I'm sure you have)
There is so much knowledge in his eyes.
There have been SO many times he could have just said a great big "I told you so"... and now and then he has - ha! In his own Ben way...

Ya I am digging this so much. I just hope they don't kill Ben before the series finale. But could they paint a bigger false prophet picture for John? I am not seeing it. Honest. Lmao

Scottie, hold your thoughts to the end.
Ben was redeemed in Dead is Dead.
He will be around until the series finale.
Because he's the good guy.
I gotta run now. Been great chatting with you!
