What ever happened to them after Ben put them in a boat heading for those specific coordinates?
Did those coordinates take them to another island - Perhaps where the temple is? Did it send them to a different time warp where they went back into the past and then decided not to get on the plane? Why doesn't the world know about them survivng the crash, too? Why has Jack and the others not wondered what happened to them since they've been back?
Think about it... Ben would not have just let someone go knowing that they could tell all of his secrets and try to tell others about the island... Especially knowing that he would try to send help back for their friends....
