Sayid is Ben's man on the boat. Time and space are irrelevant. The past, present and future are simultaneous. Don't forget the man that answered the phone is named Minkowski. Minkowsi was a German Mathematician who introduced the first theories of space and time.

"By 1907 Minkowski realized that the special theory of relativity, introduced by Einstein in 1905 and based on previous work of Lorentz and Poincaré, could be best understood in a four dimensional space, since known as "Minkowski spacetime", in which the time and space are not separated entities but intermingled in a four dimensional space-time, and in which the Lorentz geometry of special relativity can be nicely represented. The beginning part of his address[1] delivered at the 80th Assembly of German Natural Scientists and Physicians (September 21, 1908) is now famous:"

The fact that the mans name was Minkowski is probably not by chance.

nice job snipes007 I totally agree that Sayid is Bens man on the boat. i think all of the "future" stories are in some way occuring presently. That there are small alteratiions constantly occuring in the space time fabric, and that this is keeping everyone and everything a few degres off mark

If time and space were irrelevant, the show would be pointless.
