This is my first thread so bare with me.

Locke is the assumed leader of the others, yet he has yet to go to the temple. It seems all the leaders have gone to the temple and been given some sort of knowledge (think back to Richard saying Ben will forever lose his innocence by going to the temple). I am wondering if there is some sort of significance as to why Locke has never been to the temple and experienced whatever goes on there?

Possibly because the islands will is not necessarily the same as Jacobs/The Temple, i'm thinking that Jacob/The Temple is the people, and "the island" is the same force that tries to course correct errors like charlie dodging every terror on the island just to end up drowning, so Jacob/The Temple is basically trying to steer the island, and it doesn't want to be steered.

That's my theory at the moment anyway...

EDIT* And the reason John has yet to visit the temple like Ben in 77, is that he has already seen the light, just from a different source :)

We cannot account for what has happened to Locke since he got back to the island. Last we knew of him he was dead, in a casket on an airplane. For all we know he "has" been to the temple and this is why he is so "all-knowing" now. So, to say with all certainty that he hasn't been to the temple could be a little hastey.
